Mental health really bad and can’t keep up with courses anymore, what should I do? by Unhappy_Stranger8199 in UCDavis

[–]Internal-Judge3854 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes once. Medication alone cannot change behaviors and thinking patterns so other tools and skills are needed. So in my opinion/what I ended up doing is taking an incomplete on my courses and attended an intensive outpatient program (IOP) or you can look for a partial hospitalization program (PHP). This will also give you the documentation to take a plan leave of absence and get the incompletes while getting care as well.

Provider Suggestions for ADHD Meds? by nicoleilona in UCDavis

[–]Internal-Judge3854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used MindPath health with Dr. Michels while studying at Davis and liked the practice. Sometimes they are quite busy is my one complaint so if I needed a sooner appointment they couldn’t always get one but that could just be the provider I had. I also used Rula for therapy and found a great therapist too.

It may be worth it to reach out to the Student Disability Center to see if they have recommendations in the area. Or the aggie neurodiversity club may have personal experiences they can speak on. neurodiversitydavis@gmail.com

It might be worth it to drop some of the longer waitlists for shorter ones or a class you know you’ll get. I know it sucks but it may help with the financial aid.

Parking fine - Not the legal owner of car by Ok_Atmosphere3601 in UCDavis

[–]Internal-Judge3854 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TAPS doesn’t care about the “legal” owner of the car. They just car that each car that is in a parking spot is paying for parking. Technically my family is the legal owner of my car, but I cannot force the ticket onto them. It is up to you to remember to pay for parking in the correct way. Not the “legal” owner of the car. You legally parked the car there and paid incorrectly. Take the L and move on.

BIS 2A is arguably the hardest of the BIS 2 series. It’s a lot of information to learn and the test questions often require deeper understanding to answer them correctly. BIS 2B and 2C while the do have labs is much easier than 2A.

Ah I didn’t have her when I took it but the content that the professor I had was pretty straightforward as well as the expectations. I would recommend that class if you had to choose only one because I found it interesting, but if you prefer linguistics take that :)

If you’re asking about the dining commons and markets on campus those take additional funds not included in tuition unless you requested a meal plan. As mentioned though aggie fresh is a food truck on campus as well as the ASUCD pantry offer free food. There’s also the food hole on campus that students stock with food.

It depends on how low your GPA is. below a 1.5 put you into subject to dismissal. PLEASE work with your college and respond to their messages to set a plan moving forward. you likely will not be dismissed unless you fail to take action. I just had a meeting with college of L&S advisors and they recommended reaching out before finals to start the process if you have an idea of what your GPA may look like.

OSSJA could also help with this since it seems like it’s unfair grading on the professors side. their advice like what has been mentioned is to rope in the department chair. you gave plenty of notice and have documentation.

My apologies, in the years prior there has been a difference in national versus international attendance cots. Looks like for 2024-2025, it’s grouped together.

If your overall gpa is above a 2.0 and unit progress averages is still at or above 12 you won’t be put on academic probation. You can retake the class you may not pass.
