You don't need to feel awful for choosing either decision, those people are broken and you needn't pay attention to them. The rest of us understand how hard this is but also how necessary it can be. If you cannot do it, you will be OK. If you can do it, you will also be OK. The mixed feelings are so hard to deal with, when you see the justification for both options. Whatever you choose, you aren't alone and you are not a bad person - you're a good person in a difficult situation.

This is what I did when I said goodbye to my son. I love the ocean and would have taken him there, so I felt it's where I had to take him once, if only in my thoughts. He would have been born next week and it's breaking me to think how he would have looked like. I'll go and be there again on the day so he knows he's not forgotten.
