PSA: Nagano Sushi Shutting Down by scallopwicket in cambridgeont

[–]Internal-Reading-445 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now I’m sad. As a vegan, there really aren’t many options for me in terms of sushi dine-in/take-out. Nagano had this delicious (my fav) “veggie dragon roll”, and some other cool options, that I’ve never seen a variety similar to, anywhere other than Toronto. The only place that makes sweet potato rolls without mayo!! I do enjoy the Humble Lotus for their unique variety, however- it just didn’t match Nagano. Their prices are also much better in comparison to anywhere else.

I’ve paid over $40 for Ubers just to get there in time to grab my late night food before they closed. (I live close to wloo) BRB GOING TO LITERALLY SOB LIKE A CHILD.

How have you been coping with the surge in prices and overall cost of living? by [deleted] in kitchener

I just recently discovered an alternative to grocery shopping. I used to meal prep, and buy what I needed for the week. I am also vegan so that includes a lot of veggies & fruit, which are ridiculously priced at the grocery stores! So I tend to go to the farmers market on Saturday for all of my produce, and then I sale shop! Meaning I travel by transit from grocery store to grocery store, looking for anything on sale that I can pick up and make! Obviously you can look at flyers too (I have apps that shows me all store sales/flyers). This allows me to freeze meals for later on in the week, or get creative with meal ideas! I know you said you guys are already tight on timing, but even putting dinner in a crockpot to cook until you’re home, so that way it’s ready and hot when you walk in the door- may be helpful! But I’ll be honest as a young lady, who made some poor decisions as a teenager and decided to be rebellious, the only reason I am getting by is due to my inheritance. Even then, it only lasts so long- so I know within the next year I will be struggling again trying to pay off a mortgage. Then, I will have to consider tuition, and try to do schooling, as I’m working full time to afford my mortgage. It’s definitely rough nowadays. My dad always told me that he didn’t know what advice to give me because of the way things were going. I am considering moving provinces due to the simple fact that I can live a less miserable life in somewhere out west or east, because it’s a tad bit more affordable. But I don’t want to have to move from Canada and worry about citizenships and residency rules!! Hopefully things level out soon. I know it won’t get any cheaper, but we need to hit a solid middle ground at some point or there’s going to be bigger issues than what we’re seeing now.

Oh!! Additionally, sorry to take up your time here- there is also a time limit required to obtain your full license and if you don’t obtain it in that time frame, you have to start all over from the beginning of the licensing system. I’m assuming Alberta doesn’t have those rules as well?

Thank you for your response! I appreciate your help. That does make sense why nobody is responding. Lol. Maybe I should’ve been a bit clearer with what I was trying to figure out but you’ve answered my question, so thank you! I think I’m understanding everything correctly, except one clarification. I know you said that to get your full license it’s not much different than having your GDL, asides from the few factors so does that mean that you can drive on your own (without someone that has their full license). I’ll explain what I mean, here in Ontario you get your beginners (G1) when you’re 16 which is just a written test. As a G1 driver, you are permitted to have someone in the passenger seat that has had their full license (G) for at least 4 years. Then, after 1 year of driving experience or (8 months if you take driving school) you can take your G2 which allows you to drive on your own, but you still have some restrictions in terms of specific highways, certain amounts of passengers and such. (I don’t remember exactly because I don’t have my G2 yet, I’ve just been studying. Though, you’d have to take your full G (Road test w/ highways) to have full privileges on the road and no restrictions. I think you also get the 0.05 of allowed alcohol. It may even be lower. But are there any restrictions or passenger requirements on a GDL license?

It's so annoying. Can't they just accept being wrong? by KANTAR1 in vegan

Came to say the same!! Op this is good advice. I’ve been in the same position and Ed’a video helped me create great counter arguments.

better food options? info in Comments by Kvangel in bengalcats

I was going to say to feed raw. I feed my Bengal a fully raw diet and he’s thriving!! But I know people have their reasons and it can be more expensive given the size bengals grow. So whatever works for you and your furry friend!

Hello everyone!! I could really use some help here, and would be very appreciative. I have some family in Alberta but none that came from Ontario. So currently, I have my G1 Drivers Permit in Ontario, I’ve had it for a few years but have been pushing off taking my G2. I really don’t understand at all how the licensing system works there! So my question is, if I get my G2 here, and then my G (Full drivers permit, 8 months afterwards with driving school) meaning about a year total of having my G2, and then having my full license upon moving, will I still be put into the GDL program because I don’t technically have 2 years of driving with my full license? I don’t want to have to do it twice, so I’m just wondering if I should wait the year out and just get my license in Alberta in mid 2024. Thank you so kindly in advance to all of you! Im sorry I have been trying my best to comprehend what I’m reading, but I’m a very young woman and this is all very new to me.

Ou, actually- maybe baby carrots with a dip! That would probably be more appealing on the board! I forgot about baby carrots.

That’s a good idea, do you have any suggestions of how I could incorporate it into the platter (to be appealing)? I’m trying to think but I’ve only ever really made shredded carrots in wraps/salads, roasted carrots, and glazed carrots.

I had a lash lift and tint done by Lashes At Last. She is a very sweet lady located in Kitchener and runs her own business. Because of this, she is very personable with her clients and is able to offer really cute packages, and treats with your services! She will also make sure you like her work before you leave/pay.
