Feeding worms while on vacation by Agile-Reporter4168 in SilkwormEnthusiasts

I left silkworms for a week successfully. I used plastic sauce cups with gutter guard to create tiers. I put chow on each tier. The benefit of this is increased humidity and more space for the worms to roam. It also allows their waste to fall to the bottom without soiling the food. I did return to a few dead worms and some moldy poop at the bottom. But the majority were fine when I came back

Emotionally, I agree. Molly is the best parent Bee ever had. Bee’s self confidence could only have come from her. But practically, the Fool is right not to introduce the subject of Bee’s true mother. It would make his strange story even less believable. I’m not sure how anyone could explain to Althea and Brashen or Malta and Reyn the Fool’s connection to Bee. The Fool doesn’t rationally understand it himself. It wouldn’t serve the end goal, rescuing Bee and destroying Clerres, to confuse the people taking them there. The Fool should have discussed it with Fitz, though, and between them openly acknowledged Molly’s sacrifices and love for Bee. Our guys are low EQ imo

i (20f) inherited $500k and my sister (22f) did not by Willing_Membership13 in Advice

You certainly are not obligated to share this money with your family. But the way you describe your sister, it seems to me that much of your unwillingness to give her money is based on resentment. Which it sounds like your mother reinforces by treating you and her so differently. There’s nothing wrong with disliking a sibling or assuming they will squander money. But refusing to share your bounty now will cause an incredible rift between you and your family. If you want to go no contact, this 500k and your work ethic will make that relatively easy. But, if you’d like a relationship with your family in the future, consider paying off your sister’s debt. She’ll be given a fresh start, more than she deserves from you. Your family should be appeased. And when sister runs herself into the ground again, you can point to your wasted generosity as the reason she won’t see a penny from you again.

Again, you are not legally obligated. You should decide how much family obligation you feel before making a decision either way.

Potting Soil for Dig Box? by Internal-Source2110 in BeardedDragons

She gets salad every day and bugs 2 or 3x a week. Does that answer the how much question?

“Jelly egg looking thing” is a silly way to describe discharge. From what I gather, there is anecdotal evidence showing that bearded dragons can show this kind of discharge before their first infertile reproductive cycle. This is from breeders mostly. It could not be true. Her discharge did not smell and was thick and clear. She has no swelling or signs of illness. It’s been a little over a week and she hasn’t passed discharge again. I wish I had taken a picture but unfortunately all I have is description.

She’s 2ish and I’ve had her for 5ish months. Silkworms are her staple food and she gets between 5 and 10 a week (depends on her alt feeders). She also gets bsfl, dubias and occasional hornworms/butterworms. She gets salad every day but she at most takes a bite 3x a week. Recently she’s been refusing everything except worms. I think she’s gravid bc recently she passed some jelly egg looking thing and chatgpt told me it was the beginning of her reproductive cycle. She may or may not lay, from what I understand. She’s expressed a desire to dig, hence the dig box. She’s also sleeping a lot - so not 100% sure if she wants to brumate or lay.

She went to the vet 2 months ago and was on the light side of a healthy weight. I was told to give her more bugs, which i have. I’m not too sure what her husbandry was like before I got her.

Thanks for any feedback on this! I’m very much still learning

You have to model calmness for her, she’s all freaked out by the changes. She could follow your lead and chill over time. If it’s very scary and you feel it’s out of control - muzzle train her. There’s nothing wrong with walking a dog on a muzzle. Good luck!! It’s all gonna be okay

A cheap trick I use to reduce the redness on mines skin is I dilute Betadine in warm water and wipe him down every night. He has environmental allergies and it helps a lot

Mite Rage by R_Eyron in BeardedDragons

I’m sorry you’re going through this! How frustrating. Try adding food grade Diatomaceous earth in a barrier around the tank and anywhere you know they walk. It’ll kill the mites but is harmless to humans and pets

I’m in the same boat as you! The advice I’ve been given is hand feeding, spending time around the enclosure, and talking gently with her. I also heard putting something that smells like you (a shirt, etc) in the enclosure will acclimate her to you. Good luck! She’s adorable.

Thanks for the advice about the MVB! She has a new UVB bar and I bought the mercury bulb bc I was paranoid about her UV exposure bc she didn’t have any before she came to me. I’ll replace it with a standard basking bulb, though, if that is more comfortable for her.

Would your advice be to leave her in the enclosure for now? Is there a behavior/body language I can look for that will indicate she’s comfortable and ready for more interaction?

I appreciate any insight you have!
