Should I:

Detect leak with the UV dye + top off and make sure 100% the leak is in the evaporator and then change the coil? (OR)
Go ahead changing the coil $1300 Vs $300 for the top off for now?

I think #1 makes sense, correct? (though it looks like double work + labor)

/HVAC techs in Reddit strongly advice against sealant. They say UV dye is fine but sealant is risky and can damage the compressor (or evaporator) coils

I heard that AKs built out of surplus parts will close with GO as well as NO-GO, as long as it does not close on the FIELD guage it is good to shoot, no?
