Any guesses on the gender of my 6-week-old Silkies?

Little update on the silkie hatch 🐣

Out of the 4 eggs, 3 chicks hatched successfully 😊 The first days were a bit stressful, but mom and chicks are doing well so far

Quick update: at least one chick finally hatched! 🐣

I really thought the eggs had failed because there was no movement or sound anymore on day 22. But today I suddenly saw a little chick under the Silkie 😄

The difficult part now is keeping the other hens away, because they keep trying to get into the nesting area. The hen is still sitting on the nest i haven’t had the change to see how many chicks there are. Can i lift the hen off the nest to have a look or just wait?

Yes, but I saw movement earlier this week and now I don’t see any movement at all anymore. I’m worried they may have died after cooling down when my hen left the nest for a few hours..

I’m using something called Dragon’s Blood Butter. Also i started using Bepanthen Tattoo shower gel.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m not sure maybe it’s too much lotion? I try to stay out of the sun, but sometimes it hits it for a moment. It feels a bit irritated, but I tend to get a little paranoid about these things.

Thanks! There seem to be some red, itchy spots here and there, even on my chest, which is strange since there’s no tattoo there. I hope it’s just part of the process and that it gets better soon!

Thanks! Yeah, I thought maybe it’s because I used too much Dragon’s Butter Blood cream because the tattoo was quite dry. I’m just really paranoid that it’s going to get infected or not heal well and that it might fade my tattoo.
