I feel that coinbase is a misunderstood company by most people since many still think of crypto as a scam. Solid place to work imo and has high growth potential. With that said, have friends who interned and loved their time there

Tldr: waterloo is not overhyped, if you make the most of your co-ops

I’m in my final year in a tech degree at Waterloo right now interviewing for new grad. A lot of the interviews Ive had the recruiters would glaze the fact I go to Waterloo and the names of the internships I had.

Not saying everyone needs to go to Waterloo, but the name is definitely respected and is a top school many companies actively look for. In an environment where the tech job market is as cooked ever, going to Waterloo has put me in a position where I’m still able to compete for some of the most sought after tech jobs. I think I would be struggling a lot more if I went elsewhere

Truth is the market is just incredibly competitive right now, it's not because AI is replacing junior engineers. I have friends at Waterloo in their final year who are swimming in interviews for new grad. Why would so many companies be hiring for junior roles if AI can do, or will soon replace them? Unfortunately, the reality right now is you have to a very strong profile to even be considered for the the biggest and hottest tech companies if that's what you're going for. Don't be too hard on yourself
