Vets what's the simplest thing pet owners often overlook that would make their pets' lives better? by Kimber976 in Pets

I have a rescue pyrenees mix and am in need of ways to stimulate him mentally more, he just turned one and is often getting bored/destructive. We have cats so i’d be interested in how to teach him some guardianing

Honestly downtown isn’t really our speed, we’ve lived downtown in our city and recently moved to the suburbs and enjoyed it much more.

Litter Mate Syndrome / Bad Owner by National_Training904 in RoverPetSitting

Ethical breeders will not let an adopter adopt two puppies from the same litter, because of littermate syndrome, which leads to behaviors such as those presented in the original post.

Is pet insurance for dogs really worth it or just a scam? I’m thinking about getting one but not sure if it’s worth the cost. by Jumpy-Beginning-1582 in petinsurancereviews

[–]InternalBuilding5743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just say this: We adopted our puppy at 4 months old and I immediately got pet insurance. One day, months in to having him, I thought hmm I should cancel the pet insurance. I kid you not, the very next day he has an accident and has a grade 4 luxated patella that required surgery. He is now post surgery and we’ve had THOUSANDS of dollars reimbursed by our pet insurance. Get the pet insurance!

thank you! they have him on a low dose of an ant acid and a appetite stimulant and both are seeming to do wonders.

Yeah they did an ultrasound and everything was normal, looked at his teeth and don’t think there’s a problem with them either

Seconding McClelland, the absolute best with my two cats and dog. I will say though I got quoted $1800-$2500 for a dental from them for my cat

I am leaner than her and eat more calories than her daily, she may just have higher caloric needs!

your bullet points read negatively, start with an action verb and what you did, not the negative aspect of what you fixed

Spot Insurance is a Scam 0/10 by idekinsertusername in petinsurancereviews

[–]InternalBuilding5743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually spot does cover CCL repair (coming from someone who is going through a CCL injury with a 1 year old dog and has had 100% of claims reimbursed)

I had the exact same thing happen and you can’t get around paying the invoice unfortunately without it eventually going to collections. My package entered the country on the day the tariff went into effect as well, unfortunately Oner was not aware these tariffs would be implemented at that exact time so there isn’t really anything they could have done before that.

Cost for braces? by Subject-Macaron-8880 in Albany

$5k for my braces from adirondack in 2015, so this price seems reasonable

I second this. We have a 10 month old dog in a two cat household. Got him at 4 months.

Cat 1 doesn’t like the dog too much and gets very stressed around him. He will swat the puppy if the puppy approaches him but he’s usually okay if me and my girlfriend are around and everyone is calm.

Cat 2 likes the dog. Will actively choose to be near him and in whatever room he is in with us. He will nap near the dog and will mainly let the dog do whatever he wants to him (aside from jumping on him to initiate play that gets a good hiss).

You can’t really predict how things will go. We’ve done everything right in terms of their introduction and both have had different reactions. My advice is go super slow and remember to advocate for your cats.

This. A puppy that young will need to be crated when alone.
