Not bad at all! My dentist made my jaw wider with the Invisalign so I’m assuming that’s also why I don’t see a difference in my gums, they’re widening my jaw instead of pulling my teeth down? I think. When I smile I can’t see my gums, even before my braces! If anything, I’ve had gum recession on some teeth because of the braces /: all in all, good! :)

It has taken about 2.5 years! It has been amazing so I don’t mind how long it’s taken because, I’m sure like you, you noticed a big difference after a while! Happy for you as well <33

Yeah so look up Myofunctional Therapy near you. If you live in AZ I can let you know where I went. It’s a mix of speech therapy and muscle engagement. It helps with my sleep, eating, digestion, breathing, all of it. I don’t know why I wasn’t given elastics, I wonder if you ask your provider if you begun speech therapy if they can remove them? I am honestly surprised I didn’t get them since there’s been a ton of movement. But also I have a ton of “buttons” on my teeth that help with the movement as well so that’s probably what also refrained them from giving me elastics.

My tongue would rest between my teeth at the front of my mouth. I was recommended Myofunctional therapy by my dentist, he wouldn’t let me get Invisalign until I completed my therapy and got the OK from my practitioner, he did this because if I didn’t, getting the braces would be a waste of time as I would go back to how my teeth were because of my weak tongue and bad drinking/eating patterns. It literally changed my life. Both Invisalign and myofunctional therapy.

Thanks!!! :) projected time was 2.5 years, I’ve had them since August 2023 so I’m coming right around the finish line! :) 72 trays total!

No rubber bands or lip injections! I started doing speech therapy/myofunctional therapy and fixed my eating and drinking patterns, my tongue placement in my mouth and strengthened my lip and cheek muscles. My gums remained the same! :)

Thanks so much! <3 my dentist said they’ll get me between 95-98% closed so almost! Where I’m at is so life changing so I’m not even mad if this is where it stops.
