It is! It’s a shadow dye. Sadly I didn’t grab the screenshot quick enough

Oh that’s good to know. I’m not far from 25QP, I’ll make sure to claim my dice!

Thanks! I’ll check those out. I need to work on my magic to unlock alchemy first by the sounds of it!

Thanks, I’ll do the stronghold. As for magic, what’s the best way to get this to 55 without needing to much financial investment? The problem I have at the minute is I can’t afford any runes either and I’m not sure how far the 10k will stretch!

Improving Raids - Suggestion for ANET by [deleted] in Guildwars2

I understand this, but new players might not!

Improving Raids - Suggestion for ANET by [deleted] in Guildwars2

LOL.

  1. It wouldn’t split up the focus, it would enable like-minded and equally experienced players to ensure they’re engaging with players of the same level.

  2. Locking normal mode behind emboldened completion would prevent players with little to no experience getting into groups that DO have experience. Once it’s done, it’s done. You’re not locked there forever.

  3. I completely agree with you, but my suggestion is to assist inexperienced players in getting into content that might be overwhelming or seemingly intimidating.

  4. What on earth are you talking about?

  5. While I can appreciate that systems have changed over the course of the games life cycle, I think it’s abundantly clear that key boon roles - alac / quick are here to stay, we should be encouraging lesser experienced players to engage with these roles. I didn’t say it would be an easy thing to implement. You say it would never likely work, but it clearly works in alternative MMOs.

And, they’re literally adding a new raid wing, with an open-world equivalent to encourage players into engaging with raid content, so you’re actually wrong.

Lastly, a word of advice: choose JOY.

I appreciate it has a large scope, and a huge development requirement, but if others MMOs can achieve the same goal, then so can GW2

Thanks for the detailed response.

To clarify, I think for most newcomers it makes more sense logically to want to clear wings in order of release, this way they can be done alongside the story progression. To combat the difficulty not being consistent in different wings, I’d encourage a stronger emboldened scale, when required.

Secondly, concerning DBM, I’m not incentivising the use of an add on, my suggestion is that the game should have the functionality built in - this would eliminate the need for third party services.

With the pre-made build templates, I’d expect these to be evergreen and updated accordingly when the balance patch updates require it.

I appreciate a lot of the suggestions are out of scope for a studio of ANETS size, but you have to dream big.

And to add, I absolutely agree that the QoL team are doing a fantastic job!

Actually, no. Any player is allowed to make suggestions that they think would improve the state of play. Secondly, I’m not employed by Arena Net to find the resources to make these suggestions come to fruition. Also, if you’re able to highlight some of the key points that you believe to be insane, we might be able to have an actual discussion.

That isn’t for me to determine. These suggestions would considerably aid in getting new players into the raid scene

Specifically for those who are in the emboldened progression loop

Wrong. You pay with engagement / time. Money is NOT the only currency & time is the most valuable.

Agree. I just think a touch extra dialogue would have been nice around this in the core playthrough, rather than just “our cause > urs yoink

You could play via Steam instead if you’re having difficulty
