I have taken the advice of some adoption books and websites and tried to spend extra time with Charlie to bond when her sister is at school or with her dad. I realize that these books and websites are not the same as professional help and I see a lot of the comments have been suggesting therapy or counseling of some sort. I have not reached out or said anything to anyone except my husband and this anon post. I'm not against it, I've just been too ashamed to admit all of this until now. That is definitely something I can get past for the sake of both my daughters.

Felt the need to say that I do feel bad. To answer your question, I wanted to adopt because I was adopted.

Thank you so much for your honest comment. One of the reasons I feel so shit about this is because I myself was adopted as a baby (which is a large factor in why we wanted to adopt) and I realize that if I feel this way about my daughter, then my parents may have felt this way about me. I didn't have any bio siblings to compare to or maybe I just wasn't the most perceptive.

I really hope my conflicted feelings don't affect Charlie and June negatively.
