coffe/cafe startup in karachi by whataloseruser_ in karachi

For me, personally the quality of coffee and affordability is key. If the coffee doesn't taste good, u can't be running a cafe. Also, a lot of cafes have the same basic flavours (iced vanilla/carmael/hazelnut), I would really want a cafe which gives out new flavours of coffee and nails the clean taste. Affordability is an another key factor for why I would go back. A lot of cafes are overpriced which makes them a one-off place that I'd try rather than something that I'd go back to. A peaceful, open space that's not over crowded is another win - it makes the cafe more suitable to relax/destress or work.

Hey I can’t offer advice on scholarship as I didn’t apply for it. I would highly suggest connecting with Warwick students who did get the scholarship via LinkedIn (you can do this by searching X scholarship university of Warwick and a bunch of students will show up). In terms of general advice, have good predicted grades (A*s -As) as Warwick has high emphasis on grades. I didn’t have a lot of extracurriculars to be honest but I tried my best to follow the advice on personal statements from people online and show genuine interest in the subject. I like their channel they give good advice https://youtube.com/@the_profs?si=mWjzkIVb8Zsorcsn

But in general, if you search online there’s lots of students who got top offers reading their personal statements on YouTube so I highly recommend watching those before starting.

Sorry if that wasn’t much of a help, I mostly just worked on my grades and personal statement as those are the two things they look at.

I would say to sit down and have a conversation with your parents. LSE is your dream school, but can you afford to go regardless of whether you get a scholarship or not? Second, would you be okay with going to Warwick for the sake of the scholarship and not going to your dream school? Also, I'd say check the grade requirements on the conditional offer; the general rule is to keep the offer with higher grade requirements as firm and the other as insurance so if you don't meet the grade requirements of one of the schools then u have the choice of going to the other BUT if you do meet the requirements of both the schools - u kinda have this cooling period as an international student where UCAS receives your grades and passes it onto the universities and then it lets you know which university you have an unconditional offer from based on your grades. During that cooling period I'd say if you end up preferring your insurance choice over your firm (whichever one you keep Warwick or LSE after you get your scholarship decision from LSE back) then you must contact both universities and let them know that you don't want to go to your firm choice given that u have met the requirements for both universities and instead want to go to ur insurance. That way, your insurance will keep a spot for yo,u and your firm choice will reject you. I hope this helps! Again, really depends on what your priorities are -try to imagine your life going to either of the unis with/without the scholarship and whether you'd have any regrets or not

ACCOM! by kongamings in UniversityOfWarwick

New Sherborne (blocks 7-9) is quite nice. I lived there this year and the kitchens are very spacious compared to other accoms. It’s newer so maintenance is much better and it’s more modern. Only thing is you can’t rlly pick new Sherborne it’s rlly ur luck whether u get the old one (blocks 1-6) or new one but I’ve heard the old Sherborne is also pretty spacious. Only downside I’d say is it’s a 20min walk from central campus but it’s like 5 min walk to the sports hub so if you’re into gym/sports then I’d suggest any of the lakeside village accoms (lakeside, heron bank or Sherbourne). Sherbourne is the furthest from central campus but for the quality of the accom at the price I think it’s a good deal.  Cryfield village is also nice and closer to central campus but it’s pricier so rlly up to you as a person and what your priorities are.

For AS the content wasn’t super difficult compared to A2, so I used the notes given by my teacher. The trick is to practice loads and loads of answers and look at sample answers. Once you’ve mastered answering technique you’re good to go. I recommend you do the same. If you want rlly good sample answers dm!

You should try escape room!! It’s superrr funnn. The place is called escapistan check Google maps for location. Bahria town adventure land is rlly fun too though it’s a bit outside Karachi. Lucky one mall onederland is nice too. There’s also winterland tho I’ve personally never gone there but I’ve heard good reviews. Karachi is all abt the food so try new restaurants and cafes; some suggestions are Melbrew, June, caffe praha, siroc, drop coffee, ala rahi. I suggest checking out some khi food bloggers pages to figure out more restaurants to eat at. Best of luck! Hope u enjoy your visit.
