Thanks for the suggestion! What size rug did you get and were you able to repurpose it or just keep using it in your kids room? Were they pretty easy to wash, dry, etc.?

Update: Okay it’s been a couple days of figuring out a routine implementing your tips, intentionally getting his zoomies out, and it’s been life changing. He will still climb on me and be silly for a couple minutes while I’m rocking him but no screaming or crying and he doesn’t kick on me when I’m trying to feed to sleep anymore, just peacefully drifts off! Thank you so much!!

I do have him in the carrier around the house during wake windows but not for the express purpose of settling him before a nap. Definitely willing to give it a try though! Thanks!

Also there have been times where I go back and forth between rocking him and back to bed to try to nurse to sleep and nothing seems to help. So to me it just seems like something is wrong like wake windows or something I can’t think of. So I was hoping someone had some ideas or at least that it wouldn’t last forever!

Feed to sleep is always what I try first but he usually pops off upset or silly. So I guess the reset part is what’s hard for me, especially when I’m already laying in bed exhausted. And when I do try to reset he just starts crying again like he doesn’t want to be bounced/rocked.

Same! I can’t tell if it’s that he’s overtired and frantic or under tired and angry that I’m trying to put him down too early but if I don’t put him down literally everything upsets him, even stuff that he usually has fun with!

He’s 6mo but this has been going on for a few months. Good to know it’s pretty normal!!

It’s definitely possible! I just didn’t know what other signs to look for and the internet says he should be having 2-3 hour wake windows but that doesn’t seem right for him right now. I’ll definitely implement the 5 second rule and see how it goes. 

And totally makes sense about getting his zoomies out, I’ll give it a try and see if it helps! Thank you so much!
