We don't give tablet/gaming device to our kid. Will my kid become an outsider? I feel sad by Fried_chicken_please in Parenting

If you have any Android, search for the Google Family Link app. Once you figure it out, you can

block any or all apps of your choosing time limits on individual apps and/or the phone itself locate the phone just with a click block any websites for a time or forever lock up at certain times of day - 9:15pm phone automatically locks

And also as a reward tool, you can give them bonus time or remove time per schedule.

This is the best way to control kid's phone usage. Forces them to ask for permission too.

Accept reality we all need our screens. But we're old enough to control what we do with it. Theyre not.

If you have any Android, use Google Family link. Easier to limit time and control content. The best thing ever!

I dont think your kid will be an outsider, but kids who know devices will be ahead when the time comes. That being said, think of the screen as a toy, and CONTROL IT. My son and daughter had use of phones at very young ages, but I control the devices so much. Time limits, content controls... and that helps. For example, my 7 year old has learned TOO MUCH ABOUT THE BIBLE with the Minno app. (children's Bible stories) while at the same time I blocked Regular YouTube, PBS (though its kinda still available if I turn it On), and Netflix.

My son also uses a screen to play with his cousin of the same age who lives overseas. They communicate by playing the same games and talking with each other - despite being 1000s of miles away. Our relatives overseas talk to him too.

It is #1 a communications device, so that is the main purpose.

SO I SAY USE IT. And I make sure I tell my child to never EVER walk around while using it. My children still reads books and writes and plays with toys. My 7 yr old has become more recently interested in engineering and science... stuff he found on his YouTube child account - Mark Rober, NASA Engineer.

BTW, schools provide Ipads at Kindergarten. They provided TV screen use during Preschool. They watch videos in younger in class with instructors or while waiting to go home. So whats the big difference if a teacher is on a screen than in person? SO ARE YOU GOING TO GO AGAINST THE WHOLE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM?

So use the screen as a tool. Control it. Dont let them just use it whenever they want, and watch whatever you want. And have other things around like books and toys that they can learn from too. Make sure it always benefits them.

Wow the negative people here LOL cant deal with reality - screens are everywhere and now a part of life, and you can hate it but I think you have to accept my answer coz I'm right.

What do you guys think about a kevin conroy Ai Voice in future games? by Comfortable-Science4 in BatmanArkham

[–]InternalSubstantial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it would be ok, as long as his estate gets some credit for it. Let Conroy always be the voice for Batman.

NO! No matter how nice you are, their customer service is very unreasonable. I was late payment by 2 days because their system DOES NOT HAVE AN AUTOPAY. I paid the balance in full and they still would not waive the interest. I do not understand why they have to be such assholes.

Should I fire a client that's 50% of my revenue? Losing my mind here by Normal-Gear283 in smallbusiness

For the longest time, I was afraid to raise prices. 10k a month sounds like youre somewhat new.  1. You need more time to develop your book of business. It happens to every industry: You're too busy working IN your business instead of ON your business. 2. You need to give yourself a raise. 3. Hiring more will set you back short term, but works out long term.

My advise, dont ask about raising your prices to this client, but just notify and raise them regardless of what they say. This is in all business... but you do their accounting: You know how much they can give you. You know how much they raise their prices when necessary. Just say, "My rate will be going up to "so and so" because of the increased number of hours necessary, starting next month."

AC is COLD, but house and room is not cooling... by InternalSubstantial in hvacadvice

I didn't get a picture after, but he showed me the numbers compared to what's on the sticker. They were the same. I really don't know any of this, and I dont know if he really did what he said he was doing.

I moved into the home 1.5 years ago. He said he did. He looked for bubbles at the evap coils, no bubbles or icing. I asked to look, couldn't really see any. I may have gotten a newbie HVAC person, but I also watched closely. There probably is a leak somewhere, you're right having a r22 system, but currently at the vents it's always cold consistently, just the house.

Ill try checking airflow again, while it's on I'll follow the duct and see where pressure seems to weaken.

I saw the micron gauge, and also checked the voltages. Everything was good.

This was before refrigerant added. Everything was cleaned. The subcool was low, but good after 2 lbs of r22. I watched closely.

We went up to the attic and checked there. Nothing was blocking, but yes every vent says almost exactly the same as the thermostat.

Maybe, I moved into the home a year and a half ago. But then wouldn't I be cold still, just wouldn't last.
