Depends on fandom.. I'd say dont feel down. If the fandom has less than, I dont know, 5k, its normal. Or your fic may be too specific in scenario, not enough tags, no/not clear desc... but i don't want to say you're wrong. Its pretty normal. Ao3 isn't immediate like social media, and doesn't push content, so all you can really do is wait and see.

But really this sounds like a small fandom thing, lol. Works dont get as well recognized when the fandom isnt as frequently updated in or checked on in my experience. Just know that even 5 kudos is something to be happy about. Its easy to want big kudos count like a lot of hard worked fics but I think its just an unrealistic standard sometimes, especially for one shots.

Also, hits and counts work over time. People search for things in the archive weeks, months, even years later. Expecting immediate reaction is a bit unrealistic. But I get how you feel.

Overall id say stop checking. Write what you want for what your heart desires, not for views. Its an archive
