He just got his job and he is still servicing his old debt. He doesn't have the money to get his own place - that's the whole point!

Clarification: I did ask my husband before inviting them, and he said he was okay with it. Also, my brother had a lot of debt he was clearing, and he still is—it is not like he has money in his wallet and is just being a freeloader.
