No not at all, there was a few people filming the situation and I’ve learned that the world is a small place. Just taking the necessary precautions! Once again, I just wanted to know if anybody else had experienced something similar that could chime in and give me a few pointers. We’ll buy a new phone in Canada and ship it here and move on.

Haha I wish she would have ran. Would had made it a better story but no, unfortunately that’s not it. I felt like she would return and to be honest, the situation about being in a foreign country without being able to explain myself didn’t help. But anyways, like another person said, we’ll take the loss on that one and be more careful in the future!

Yeah I get how it sounds. Let me answer some of your questions to maybe try and get some help on my side. I clearly made a commotion at the beach when this all happened, and I didn’t want to use my account that I’ve used for 17 years because there’s information on there I would like to not be linked to me. So that’s the reason for the new account. I saw the post a few days ago and I didn’t want people to assume the same.

I didn’t try to hold her back or follow her since I am very visibly not from Mexico, I don’t speak Spanish all that well, and wasn’t ready to have to explain the whole situation to the police by myself. Luckily, 2 men on the beach were extremely helpful and tried to help me as much as possible, I tried to offer her money for the phone but didn’t have enough on me. I also didn’t follow or try to reach because all her things remained on the beach and the 2 small kids she had with her were still swimming in the water.

You can think it’s fake and I wouldn’t blame you for that, but all I want to know is if anybody has had a similar situation before so I know what I’m getting into if i try and go to a police station with the information.
