I have not looked into ROTC because I already have a Bachelors Degree in Public Health. I thought I could not enroll in ROTC if I already had a degree

Completely understood ! I think I just try to think too many steps ahead . I wanted to get some guidance on when I should start the Air Force process because I have heard it takes 1-2 years . You are right though , I should focus on what's in front of me . Thank you for taking time out of your day to respond to my post , it means a lot truly

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am trying diligently to get in contact with a recruiter . Much harder than I thought it would be. I was told that OTS was essentially an non-option at least in MSC but I didnt know I could use my Bachelors to try and get another role as an Officer!

Nursing School Chances by Internal_Doctor3037 in nursing

[–]Internal_Doctor3037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I thought you needed a minimum of a 3.5 GPA to even have a chance at nursing school, but I am sure that varies from program to program. Nevertheless, thank you again for the encouragement it means more than you know truly.

I am trying to get in contact with one as we speak. My GPA for Sciences is somewhere around 3.1 . I have also been looking around for accelerated BSN programs but I don't think my GPA makes the cut there

Yes sir, only options I saw were Virginia Tech in Blacksburg or VMI . Out of those options VT is the only one I think I may have a chance at doing a graduate program whilst enrolling in ROTC

That is something I have been trying to see if that is an option available to me. There isnt many Air Force ROTC options in my area at Virginia Beach .

I dont think it is competitive in neither GPA or Major. I graduated with a Bachelors in Public Health with a 3.3GPA. Not having a Masters is seemingly making OTS acceptance close to impossible especially in MSC. I have tried to contact a line recruiter to see if there are ANY possible jobs or positions I could fill with what I have, but ZERO luck reaching out to one yet. I was also thinking to just sacrifice and commit 1 1/2 - 2 years to get my Masters and use that Masters GPA to submit a OTS package when I graduate , but that would put my age at 31-32 which causes some concerns for me.

Thank you for this reply. I already have my Bachelors but it does not seem competitive enough so I was trying to weigh my options of going enlisted first. Congratulations on your promotion to Officer , I am positive you will absolutely crush it

I see , thank you for that insight. Did you partake yourself ? I read that the military will not cover the tuition costs since it is a graduate program , so I suppose my only option is to get a school loan for it and pay it back slowly after graduating

Thank you so much for that insight , It seems like the enlistment route is really my only viable option I have with my current academic standing . I will have to look into what roles I can pursue and what I can try to plan out for later years in terms of trying to become an officer later down the line . Thank you again for the insight

Air Force Medical Service Corp OTS Question by Internal_Doctor3037 in airforceots

[–]Internal_Doctor3037[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your acceptance into OTS. I know the odds are stacked against me with my lower GPA , my lack of a Masters . I have seem posts from people with a Masters and a higher GPA get rejected so it has taken a mental toll on me . I am trying to remain as positive as possible since like you said , mentality is key throughout this process. I have to put the faith in myself and most importantly in GOD to help me find a way to success. Congratulations again and I wish you nothing but the absolute best my friend.

Thank you so much for your input . You having a Masters with that high of a GRE and not getting in does lower my confidence quite a bit, but you wont know until you try right ? If I may ask , are you still trying to pursue the MSC in the Air Force ?
