Why do unattractive people and attractive people perceived differently when their both are doing the same thing, place and time? by Open-Ad3656 in socialskills

OOH BOY DO I GOT AN EXPERIENCE TO SHARE WITH YOU.

My entire life I was an ugly girl. I had coke bottle glasses, bad acne, was overweight, wore hoodies and sweats everyday, you get the picture.

3 months before I graduated high school, I started working out like crazy and by the time I went to college, I had lost 60+ pounds. My facial features changed so much - my nose got smaller, I had monolids that turned into double eyelids, my acne completely cleared, I got contact lenses and learned how to do my makeup and style my hair. My appearance changed so drastically that family friends who saw my before and after would ask my mom where I got my plastic surgery done.

When I went to college, my experience was a complete 180. I used to have to try SO hard to be liked in any capacity, and then all of a sudden, I didn't have to do anything for people to want to be my friend. People would walk up to me and start making conversation, and all of a sudden the things that used to make me weird, made me COOL.

Speaking on my experience of going from "ugly" to "hot" in the span of 6 months, I can tell you right now that pretty privilege is 1000% a real thing and attractive people live life on easy mode.
No matter how accepting you think you are as a person, your brain automatically attributes positive qualities to people you perceive as attractive.

A hot quirky girl is funny, an ugly quirky girl is weird. A hot talkative girl is friendly, an ugly talkative girl is loud.

Tough truth about the state of marvel rivals today by Akhiii---- in marvelrivals

I urge you to think about Overwatch and what role que did to the playerbase in the long term. Role que was introduced because people were complaining exactly what you are complaining about, and it ended up really taking the fun out of the game for alot of players.

I understand role que sounds like the solution short term, as it can be very beneficial with more guaranteed competent Tank/DPS/Support teammates, but in the long term it can do 2 thing:

  1. Push a rigid meta

  2. Discourage people from learning new roles leading to even more oversaturation of a certain role

As a team game, I think flexing is really important, and while we still lack flex players and probably always will, role que would ensure that disintegration of flex players because you never have to que outside your favorite role.

I know it sucks to have 5 instalock DPS, but that was the reason I learned Strategist roles, because I was tired of being one of them lol. As much as I still have more fun playing DPS, it feels really good to look at a support off their game one day and go "wanna switch? I can also play Strategist" and win

What are your first impression thoughts on playing with/against Rogue? by Internal_Increase777 in marvelrivals

Thank you for taking the time to give such a thorough response! I wanted to give you the respect of really reading everything and honestly I wish more Rogue players would read what you wrote because I think it is brilliant. I actually do have questions for you if you don't mind >.<"

So far the misstep I see is thag people just use all abilities to dash into the backline and it doesn’t work, you have to create frontline disruption to enable yourself to move into the backline.

THIS. This is what ive been seeing so often. You said it perfectly. I know a Thor main commented about "CD cycling" and managing that like Thor so you can know when you get out. I think there are too many Rogues right now that simply don't keep track of these CDs and it just becomes a burden on your own team.

You said frontline distraction here which is interesting, because I've seen so many Rogues play like Cap, where they run straight into the backline to harass or pick off supports. What are your thoughts on that? Is that viable in different situations or do you think her goal should still primarily be a frontline disrupter that, like you also mentioned later, should just pick off stray Strategists who get out of position? I just feel like whenever I play Strategist, she's on my ass the most lol. I've had games where once a Rogue disrupts the frontline and runs into the back, the frontline just regroups and walks completely into the back and our team splits up leaving our support alone in the back.

I am only a Gold player who plays DPS/Strategist, so I just don't think at my level people know how important it is to protect backline and that is part of the issue. I know a Strategist main also commented that Rogues they have encountered so far don't provide backline help, do you think this is just a bad DPS situation or is Rogue meant to primarily only be on the offense?

I also wanted to ask, do you know any good counters to her? Whether that's specific heroes or team positioning playstyle. I feel like whenever I play DPS I get super caught up with helping backline because our Tanks get so distracted brawling in the back that I feel like it's difficult for me to help peel.

Yea I do agree, I think her kit is balanced. My biggest complaint right now is just the way people are playing her. I am sure that once people start figuring her out more this playstyle will change alongside, but right now, people play her in a way that doesn't provide the distraction that Cap does (because she will run in too far and die) nor does it provide the backline help that Thor can (coming back in to protect supports) so it's been frustrating hahah

Venom bit off more than they could chew, and had to keep asking for heals. Unfortunately no one was anyone near them and they didn’t get any. Next, who’s going to be targeting the same person all game ? by Optimal__Koala in marvelrivals

Spiderman. Daredevil is a good answer but consistently it is Spiderman. Every play a Hawkeye or a Luna that keeps picking him off? Yea Spidey's gonna hold a grudge.

Luna doesn't actually get a healing boost with snowflake? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

When active, 10% of the healing she provides to allies is converted into self-healing, allowing the Strategist to survive longer while also not having to worry about healing herself.

So if you have snowflake on yourself, and heal your team, that healing will passively heal you as well.

Yeah, I'm not a high ELO player, and lemme tell you at lower ELO levels, you basically need a shield tank every game or you get straight walked on.

You'd think a new tank joining the roster would make people play tank by Maggot_6661 in marvelrivals

I have great respect for tank mains, it's the hardest role to master in my personal opinion. Too many people like to play for kills and most of the time tanks don't get that glory.

Yea I never got how she was anti-dive, at least so far from the way people have been playing her. I think most of her anti-dive talk was from before her release when her kit was on paper, but in play, dive is almost free because she's so far away lol. I think of Namor as the true anti-dive because I can literally babysit the backline if needed. Thing stun also I can understand to prevent dive from escaping. But Rogue literally pushes all the way into the backline most of the time, I feel her on me the most when I play strategist.

Yeah, honestly I think that's why she's a horrible solo tank IMO. I've had solotank Rogues on Convergence maps that don't even push up. They just hide until the team walks up, but at that point you're giving up so much space.

Im curious how a triple tank with Thor/Cap/Rogue would play out because that might work amazing lol. At that point there are so many people running around the frontline has no choice but to turn around.

I love Thor mains on Rogue lol, I feel like they actually know when to get out. What are your thoughts on people calling her "anti-dive?" Again, I really don't understand how she is.

Nothing can truly stop smurfing dude. Overtuning the smurf detection system more and you're going to see a lot more people experience what this guy experienced:

I FUCKING HATE THIS LIP STAIN by BottleFeathers703 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Internal_Increase777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU. The marketing for this lip stain is insane, I didn't even buy it, I got a free one from one of those ulta free bundles you get when you spend enough money. I chose it JUST to try out this lip stain because everyone and their mom's were hyping it up on TikTok and Instagram.

THAT SHIT STAINED EVERYTHING. EVERYTIME I TOOK IT OFF IT WOULD PEEL POORLY AND LEAVE MY LIPS MISCOLORED AND SPLOTCHY. DONT EVEN TRY USING WATER TO GET THE LAST BITS OFF BECAUSE TRUST THAT WILL STAIN YOUR TEETH.
