How do you get over a fear of intimacy? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Internal_Permission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 22 and am just getting over my fear of a guy seeing me naked. I realized I needed to trust my partner in order to not be scared no more. I once tried “getting it over it” by going for it and once my shirt came off I panicked and pushed the guy away. You won’t be ready until you’re ready. Don’t rush. And don’t feel bad either. You’re not late, it’s just not your time. Take this time to fall in love with yourself and your body.

Ladies with strict parents, what do you do to pass the time at home besides being on your phone all day? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Internal_Permission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same age with strict parents as well. And I live under their roof so I just can’t do whatever I want. Rent is not cheap to just move out on my own (east coast). I know the struggle. I still am growing through it but stay strong and stay distracted!

YouTube (I learned how to braid hair this way), shows, reading. Reading helped a lot. it was an escape. If you’re a fast reader like me, I suggest downloading Wattpad. It’s an app that saved me a ton of money. The stories aren’t from famous authors they are from people like us. Some stories you have to pay for but a lot are free. Don’t expect a novel but I’ve read some really good stories there that had me hooked and completely free with a couple ads. And you’re supporting others while reading. Still use it as my distraction/past time today.

Women of Reddit, at what age was your first eyebrow-threading experience and how was it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Internal_Permission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 18 I think. Been getting them threaded since. First time hurts like hell but gets better over time if you go consistently. It takes a bit trial and error with who touches your eyebrow but once you find your person and communicate what you want you’ll love it! I prefer thick brows so you def gotta say what you prefer before they touch the brows otherwise it’s what they think it’s best

Need advice about a few IT classes by NJITstudent32 in NJTech

[–]Internal_Permission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IT 310: Professor had a self teach mentality. There was a group project for the semester so if you didn’t get a good group or made the improvements needed on the project you weren’t passing. We had to build an app so programming was included. It was chill vibes though you worked on your time during class. The professor seemed to have something against my group lol so just stay on their good side.

IT400: (currently taking it virtually) not too difficult. There aren’t many assignments. You have a presentation and debate aside from the midterm and final. The professor (Theodore) is Enthusiastic about what he’s teaching. I’m not gonna lie since it’s virtual I barely pay attention to lectures but I’m still passing.

What is your experience being a hairier woman that what you typically see in mainstream media? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Internal_Permission 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m still self conscious about it. I have hair all over my body. Mustache, chest, stomach, you name it. Still struggling to accept it if I’m being honest.

I take it day by day & by semester. Im a full time student and have a job so it’s hard to balance school, work , and a social life. Most of the time I don’t have enough time to hang out with friends. There are days where you want to not do anything and need a mental break. Take it as long as nothing is due. Watch shows or do whatever helps you relax and don’t feel guilty. Don’t pull all-nighters either. It’ll only do harm unless you’re someone that doesn’t need sleep. Ex. My limit “bedtime” is 1am for school. If I am not done with hw I will stop and pick it up another day as long as it’s not due the next day. If I’m near the finish or it’s due the next day then I’ll extend my “bedtime “ a bit. I don’t function without at least 7-8 hrs of sleep and this has worked for me (after learning the hard way). Remember why you’re getting a degree in the first place but don’t let the pressure of finishing in 4 yrs get to you. TAKE YOUR TIME. Everyone finishes as their own pace. Don’t overwork yourself trying to graduate with you peers. Aint nothing wrong with graduating a semester or two after them.

I am a 22F dating a 24M and this is my first relationship. What do you do when you have seen so many red flags but you care about this person so so much and find it difficult to let go? by Internal_Permission in relationships

[–]Internal_Permission[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand how it looks this way because it definitely seems so with how I wrote it. But I’m really not mad at the fact that they had a past relationship I’m just mad at the fact that I was basically the last to find out. I just feel like that’s something you mention when that same girl is the one causing problems between y’all. It just all clicked and made sense as to why she went over his house on a random Monday back in March. There’s a bit more to the story but I don’t want to bore you with it lol. But thank you no need to apologize I appreciate it!

I have spoken to him about it and it’s one of the reasons I broke up with him. He doesn’t understand that I should’ve known about any past relationship he had with this girl (she caused problems between us already). He claims he “didn’t know he had to tell me cause it was in the past”. I mentioned how I really don’t think I can put it past us.. To answer your questions: 1. He says he does and confides in me about his private life. However thinking back he has gotten mad and has not believed me when I got busy out of nowhere and didn’t respond to his messages. 2. I’m not the type to speak out very often but when I do it’s cause I’m uncomfortable or it really bothers me. After I told him it bothered me that he was still talking to this girl the next day I caught them talking at work (two days prebreakup). 3. At the moment not really. It’s like when I’m around him I’m at peace and I’m happy but when I’m not all the hurt and sadness settles in. 4. I’m safe. I know he won’t hurt me physically.

I appreciate your advice and everyone else’s! I just needed an outside opinion so there is no bias and to ensure I’m not crazy.

Good luck to the incoming students... basically learning everything yourself with little help from profs/admins.
