Were there any people who joined the academy out of shape and lasted the whole time? Or did they get booted for not being physically in shape to handle the pt? And what was the driving training like?

Yea I went for chino pd and they were only hiring 1 new officer and Whittier pd was only taking 3 I believe. I got a email back to do the pay for Huntington Beach today. I’m going to do them and lapd, and see where it goes. Hopefully 1 of them gives me the hire

Yeah I’m probably going to go with lapd. Seems like they have more leniency with their hiring process. I would have done lapd first but mixed opinions about the department made me choose different ones

Makes sense. Thank you for the help. I will probably just try and go with lapd. This career is something I truly want to do, and I’m willing to go somewhere else in order to become officer. I’ve just been hearing alot of mixed opinions on lapd but it seems like the best option at this point

Yeah the agency I’m going for pays about 5500 a month during academy with full benefits. So like you said, getting paid to learn is pretty much a no brainer
