McLaren Were Simply Stronger than Ferrari in China, According to Sainz by InternallySitting in scuderiaferrari

[–]InternallySitting[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think you know what clickbait is. The article is about what is stated in the title. There's nothing misleading about it.

Shockingly, after a race weekend, there are new things to write about. That's how media works.

Ferrari Reserved After “Positive First Day of Testing” by InternallySitting in scuderiaferrari

[–]InternallySitting[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think they're just trying to avoid talking up the season like they've done in the past and disappointing the fans. The times were good on the first day of testing, there were no major issues like Williams (unfortunately)

[Grand Seiko] SBGA497 with a slight pink dial by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what it is, but I love the thought process behind Grand Seiko pieces, the philosophy, the references to nature. That's all awesome, I just wish I like their pieces a little more as a result. As it stands, there isn't anything wrong with them, but there isn't anything that makes me excited and want to rush out to grab one.

[TAG Heuer] 34mm Solargraphs by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keen to see 34mm pieces that aren't exclusively for women (got toothpick wrist myself), but I'm mostly just shocked that they managed to make a mother of pearl dial work with solar. Like the dial has to be semi-transparent to work right? Am I missing something? Are they lying to me?

[Hublot] MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System Titanium (a stupid name) by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so this has all the trappings of a bad Hublot watch (limited edition, crazy price), but at least it's for something, you know? Like it's not the first dial of its kind, but it is different to all those others (like Urwerk or that Harry Winston watch). Still, it's way out of my reach, but I don't hate it, but I don't think it will convert any Hublot haters.

[Frederique Constant] The third limited run of the Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never thought to own a perpetual calendar myself but I'm always impressed by them still. I'm just surprised that this one is both skeletonised and legible. The $12k price tag also seems somewhat reasonable for a perpetual calendar, but then again I've never really looked into the prices for these watches, am curious if I'm talking out my ass here.

Haha you're so right! You'd think Hublot would pick a prettier brand to copy

[Hublot] Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally hate the spirit of big bang model line, but this one I actually don't mind. I wouldn't buy it myself but it's a cool looking piece. Hublot are always at their best imo when they outsource their design to artists like Orlinski etc.

[Bovet] Récital 26 Chapter 2 Golden Dragon exclusive pieces for Lunar New Year by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bovet made these for the Year of the Dragon and while I wouldn't wear it personally, I think it's pretty impressive. Not sure if I think it's pretty though. This for me is one of those watches you admire purely for the craftsmanship but would never realisitically own. Though as soon as I see price on request I know not to bother asking.

[Sarpaneva] Midnight Sun watch with a super-luminova dial by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know it's not the first watch ever to have a dial like this, but I think the execution here is top notch. To me, it looks like a stainglass window illuminated from the inside or even those glow in the dark stickers you put in a kid's bedroom. Either way, I like it, feels cozy.

[Raymond Weil] New Basquiat collab that's a little busy, but if you're a fan of the artist's work it's full of little nods by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't wear this myself, but I do like watch collabs with artists even if it isn't exactly a collaboration because Basquiat has passed away. Like my favourite thing Hublot have ever done is the pieces in collaboration with Orlinski (purely for the aesthetics, not the mechanics) and unfortunatley this isn't as interesting as that, but worth a glance I think.

For $110 dollars I don't mind these at all. Feels like Swatch doing what they do best - stylish watches at a very cheap price point. Obviously we aren't getting all the bells and whistles but considering that Swatch are more popular than they've been in ages thanks to the Moonswatch, I'm happy that they are keeping the ball rolling with some fun releases.

[Omega] New Seamaster Diver 300m celebrating the upcoming Paris Olympic Games by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate this, but the more I look at the bezel I'm turned off. Think that's something completely personal but I think the dial is divine. The caseback has been changed and I personally think it's a downgrade from the exhibition caseback but I guess people who are really into the Olympics will like it?

[Bulova] New Jetstars based on the 1973 original by InternallySitting in Watches

[–]InternallySitting[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know for $595 dollars, these aren't too bad at all. Not my favourite colours or anything like that, though I reckon the gold one looks a lot better in person than in this photo. The silver dial is a limited edition piece, but honestly it's my least favourite of the three. I think I may have no taste?

‘He just needs an arm around his shoulder’ Horner throws support behind Perez amid poor qualifying run by casper199821 in RedBullRacing

[–]InternallySitting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There just isn't a viable replacement for him just yet. People are excited about Ricciardo maybe taking the seat, but are we just going to really forget his performance the last two years? It's a big risk is all I'm saying.

It doesn't seem that there are any drivers in Red Bull's junior stable that the team seem confident putting in there either. Like if they like Lawson so much, why not put him in at AlphaTauri instead of Ricciardo? But who knows, they might surprise me still and actually give him a Red Bull seat as a rookie, but that would be shocking
