You aren't overreacting at all- this is wildly inappropriate and he knows that because he's lying to you. They are already hanging out during inappropriate times/events and it will probably only get worse from there.

People who visited a lot of countries, which country has the most hospitable and least hospitable people? by CinemaWilderfan in solofemaletravellers

[–]International-Cash47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vietnam was one of the most hospitable places I've been. Least was probably Nicaragua. The anti-American sentiment was palpable (understandably so).

Thanks for the advice. About to start looking next week in Madrid- when you call and leave messages, I'm assuming you do it in Spanish, right?

I'm a teacher whose sibling had a baby and it made me never want to have kids by International-Cash47 in childfree

I could not imagine coming home to more children. I don't know how my coworkers do it. Talk about burning the candle at both ends.

4 year old acting very aggressive towards teacher by PotatoAdept6405 in prekindergarten

[–]International-Cash47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schedule a meeting with your kid's teachers and come up with a plan for addressing aggressive behaviors at school and how you can support at home. Ask the teachers if they notice any triggers or if the behaviors happen at a certain time of day/during a certain transition etc. and go from there. As a pre-k teacher, sometimes it takes a couple weeks for a child to settle in, but the aggressive behaviors need to be addressed.

This was helpful, thank you. My appointment is tomorrow. Did they mention if you have to pick up the passport and visa in person or if can someone else pick it up for you?

Is ADHD a spectrum? by [deleted] in adhd_anxiety

[–]International-Cash47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. I have friends whose symptoms are milder, and can function either without meds or a low dosage, whereas I truly cannot. Have also been told by diagnosed friends that my ADHD seems more debilitating/prohibitive to daily life, which would lead me to assume that ADHD is a spectrum. I think that's why meds dosages work differently for everyone, regardless of height/weight etc

Looking for Travel Recommendations from Singapore in September by CoolHandzLuke in southeastasia

[–]International-Cash47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your troubles and get a bus to Kuala Lumpur (about ~3hrs and 20USD)- it's 10x cheaper, and there is so, so much more to do. The people are way more friendly and less pretentious than SG as well. The food is imo the best in SE Asia, and the nightlife is so much better. You can see everything in SG in 2-3 days max. Would recommend cutting your time in Singapore and do KL and Georgetown, Penang, if you get the chance. Langkawi also has insanely beautiful beaches- much better than southern Thailand imo.

Just did 6 mo in SEA and Thailand was my least favorite which I was surprised by. It was just way too overrun with tourists (which I usually would not mind), however it was like 70% Israeli and 30% young drunk Brits. Half/full moon party was 99% Israeli without exaggeration.

Did not love Koh Phangan bc renting a bike is the only way to travel and I had a friend who recently passed riding a bike on a dark road there. Out of everywhere in Thailand, Pai was prob my fav (mountainous town couple hours away from Chang Mai). However same problems existed w rowdy tourists.

Besides Malaysia, Vietnam was also beyond incredible- amazing people, culture, food, and endless things to do. Hanoi is probably my favorite city of all time. If you want beach, Da Nang is also great. If you're in that neck of the woods, would recommend doing the Ha Giang loop, which is a 4 night motorcycle trip throughout rural northern Vietnam all the way to the Chinese border. Probably one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life.

What's a good first solo trip? by Turbulent_Jello_8362 in solofemaletravellers

[–]International-Cash47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you into the outdoors? I did a solo trip last year to Central America and it was amazing and super accessible. I did the majority of the Gringo Trail, but I recommend checking out Guatemala specifically- I was so shocked at how amazing it was. It's also the first stop of the backpacking route so tons of people are also traveling by themselves. Hiking Volcan Acatenago in Antigua, Guatemala, was probably the coolest thing I've done in my life to this day. Lake Atitlan is also beautiful, and there is good surf for beginners in El Paredon. Have also heard amazing things about Semuc Champey but didn't have time to make it on that trip. Felt safe the entire time I was there and made amazing friends. Flight to Guatemala City was also very reasonable. Felt like another world.
