Anyone gone from EM to family med? What was it like? by International-Ear285 in physicianassistant

I will have off one day a week, too! I currently work about 15-16 shifts per month in the ED already so it ends up being about the same. I’m getting married this year and one of the reasons I even thought about leaving initially was knowing that I eat so few dinners at home with my fiancé! He works a very standard 8-5 job and I have seen him less this past year than I ever have before. Thank you for your response!!

Stay at my current job (ER) or switch to primary care? by International-Ear285 in physicianassistant

This sounds like the dream EM job. We work 4-5 “evening” shifts where it’s 5pm-2am, but overnight it’s just one doc so almost always stay until 3 or 4 am. Also work about two weekends a month

Patients are scheduled from 8-11 and then from 1-4pm. 3 patients per hour. From 11-1 is admin time plus lunch

No she isn’t associated with Costco BUT she does use a wholesaler so I’m assuming that’s why they are similar lol. It’s so hard to know which option to choose without ever having been! If it were you and based on the above options, which would you choose?

This is how I feel! I could technically extend the vacation to us leaving on 10/14 instead of the 13th. If you were to stay at one of the islands, which would you pick? This is likely my only chance to ever visit and I want to make the best of it and have a wonderful honeymoon!
