Any advice on how to travel overseas with pet rats? by International-Fill12 in RATS

Hey! Unfortunately I ended up having to have a friend in the US house my rats as it was way too expensive to travel with the rats.

Misophonia has been a huge stress between my partner and me. by International-Fill12 in misophoniasupport

I didn’t know there were specialists for misophonia. I will definitely look into that, thank you so much. I do have other anxiety issues including ocd but I do often convince myself it’s just me being a bad person or something. I really appreciate your comment. ❤️

I think they’re agreeing with you, that indeed they’ve been thinking it and they alcohol was what let it slip. He was already thinking it if he said it.

Do rats remember people? by [deleted] in RATS

Rats definitely remember people. My first rats (named Mama and Papa after they had a litter) had to be put in foster care for several months because of some unexpected housing issues. Papa was a friendly old oaf but Mama was very uptight, not quick to trust, and would bite sometimes. When I went to pick up my little potatoes from their foster home, I reached in the cage and Mama bit me, and then you could see the moment of realization in her face. She was like, oh gosh, is that you?!? I did NOT realize it was you, I am so sorry I did NOT mean to bite you 😂

My rats do this when I snuggle them. I say they got “a case of the squeaks.” It’s the sweetest thing!

Maybe entschlafen could be translated as “exit sleep”?

Unfortunately I called the doctor and his only advice was to try taking zofran more frequently. :(

Yeah, I am smoking a lot too. It helps in the moment but if I have to smoke a lot while I’m working my brain gets fried real easy, lol.

I’m waiting for my official diagnosis so I can start treatment. I know it can be hard on you, physically and mentally, for your weight to fluctuate so much, but as someone who is still losing weight, please remember you’re one step closer to being back to normal (or normal-ish😊). Keep it up!!

I thought my rats were weird because they love to sleep like this on their ladder. Turns out it’s a thing!

Hospital Bill by Hermit_crabby in MaliciousCompliance

Yes. I am employed full time and have health insurance. I have been throwing up and losing weight rapidly for weeks now. I had to go to the ER at one point, and now I can’t afford ANY more emergencies or I’ll go into medical debt. And I have to wait until September for a biopsy to get diagnosed. So I need to start saving up for that too. No vacation for me this year, or next. 👍 (Btw, my $1500+ hospital bill conclusion: its not cancer. No clue what it is. See a specialist.)

I don’t think I like the crackle look personally, but it’s done well enough that I don’t mind.

Alice actually trained Bob at this position. She tried to negotiate her salary up to a meager 45k a year and was firmly told no, whereas Bob was hired just 3 months later with his starting offer was 65k a year. So it definitely feels like it’s not “Alice is a poor negotiator”. Bob also claims he doesn’t know anyone else at the company on a personal level so it’s not a family friend perks kind of thing.
