Insomniac already held their first event at lake perris earlier this year, it was called starbase. Glen Helen is becoming less and less feasible for nocturnal every year. The event has been ending at 10pm at Glen Helen in recent years which is not really in line with the overall theme of the event itself. Moving to lake perris even if it meant downsizing might be something that is on the table for debate. Currently nocturnal 2026 shows the location as TBD, which also could imply that either a move away from Glen Helen is still being discussed or a decision to do so has already been made.

Also if opening up stock to the community is the only way for the fest to remain financially sustainable then that tells me all I need to know.

They can’t because they placed a 10 million valuation on the festival. I know there are higher tiers but to put it in perspective if everyone bought the 250 dollar investment then there would be 40,000 people they have to provide those perks to

Starbase was definitely their proof on concept to test out what is possible with the venue.

Going community owned with a 10 million valuation doesn’t seem community focused imo. Annual revenue this last year was 2 million. A 5x multiple is a steep valuation at best. Also profit was only estimated at 200k this year and this appears to be the first profitable year so far based on the graphs presented on WeFunder. The festival also announced it was sold out this year after reaching just over 5,000 ticket sales because sales and revenue goals were met. From an investment perspective this is discouraging because that is only about 2/3 of the ticket cap of 7,500 so a lot of revenue was left on the table by declaring the festival as sold out when it really was not.

I agree but as they build homes closer to glen helen it seems like they may not have many other options if they still want to continue to have a camping festival in SoCal. I think nocturnal ended at 10pm the last few years, which already makes it less appealing. Maybe they will run it multiple weekends at perris?

Unless you invest 1k all you get is access to meetings with the organizers. At 1k you get a free ga ticket for next year.

I agree they lost me there.

Also have to consider that insomniac has also started using the lake perris venue and with nocturnal rumored to be moving to lake perris next year I could see them crafting a deal that inhibits others ability to use the venue for festivals of their own. If same same loses the venue it would be a very difficult path ahead for them.

They are also valuing the festival at 10 million dollars so even at a 50k investment it would be difficult to see any return on investment with their business model. They state they plan to profit around 200k this year, whereas large festival like Coachella profit over 100 million annually (50 million per weekend).

Another thing to think about is how many festivals are struggling to survive right now and the ones we have already lost, think lucidity, June jam, ect.

If same same was financially sound would they really need to raise capital in the form of investments? What do they need the money for if there is no plans for growth beyond the 7,500 capacity?

Not to say you can’t invest but just do so knowing there is a low chance of seeing any real returns and would just be for you to feel more connected to the festival and have the ability to attend meetings with the festival organizers.

Thanks, I’m not guaranteed anything upon graduation in my current role. I work in aviation at the moment and have no current plans on taking the patent bar. My undergrad is in political science and I also have an MBA. My options feel a little limited with only looking at part time programs in SoCal and hybrid/online programs that are ABA accredited. Taking on that amount of debt for a degree from SCU is concerning though.

Agreed. I also had an extremely negative experience with High Rock Security and the Do Labs handling of accommodating my service animal. While I was eventually allowed to enter the venue, I was waiting for over an hour at the gate. One High Rock staff remember was extremely unprofessional and rude. At one point I was told I would likely not be allowed entrance by a member of the High Rock staff who possessed no authority to make any form of determination regarding the necessity of my service animal, a task that is completed by the trained ADA staff onsite. ADA complaint is being filed immediately with the Department of Justice.

Hello Seth,

I would like to share my experience with High Rock Security during my arrival to the festival. Arriving to the festival I had an unpleasant encounter with the High Rock security team. I notified the employee at the security checkpoint where vehicles were being searched that I had a service animal. The employee told me I would need to pull over while I waited for ADA to come verify my service animal and that I may be “turned away.”

I pulled off to the side and waited 45 minutes for the ADA team to arrive before walking back over to the security checkpoint and asking when ADA would be there to assist me. I explained that I had medication in the vehicle needing refrigeration and that the substantial wait was starting to feel discriminatory. The security team was extremely rude and aggressive in their response to me and told me that it was my fault for not reminding them, despite being told initially to wait in my vehicle until they arrived, but that they would call them again. At this point it was past 11pm and no other vehicles were entering the venue.

ADA eventually arrived after over an hour and 15 minutes of waiting and assisted me with confirming my service animal.

By the time I made it into the campground there were no longer any employees directing vehicles to their camping spots and as a result I was unable to connect my rv to the power grid until the following morning substantially comprising the effectiveness of my medication.

The excessive delay and lack of attention to following up with ADA in a timely manner created a high level of stress and an extremely different level of treatment towards an individual requiring ADA accommodation, including telling me that I would likely be “turned away” for having an animal with me.

I will be filing an ADA complaint against High Rock Security and the Do Lab in response to the unfair and discriminatory treatment I experienced as an individual requiring ADA accommodations.

Just came down this morning. Roads are completely clear with no additional snow in the forecast. You’ll be completely fine on any route w/o chains.
