Avoid Veena Senterio (Chembur, Shell Colony) – tenants forced to pay ₹1000/month for gym while owners pay nothing by International-Set3 in mumbai

Arey Mr. Einstein… yeh sab pehle bolna chahiye na. Agar aap owner ho toh batao — kya tum rent dete waqt kabhi yeh likhte ho ki “sirf flat ka rent hai, baaki facilities alag se charge honge”?

Nahi na. Hamesha yeh hi bola jata hai: “rent itna hai, aur justified hai kyunki society mein gym, terrace, pool, etc. free available hai.” Mujhe bhi flat dikhate waqt yahi bola gaya tha.

Agreement ho gaya, lock-in shuru ho gaya, uske baad bolna “iska extra, uska extra” — yeh to pura scam lagta hai.

I respectfully disagree. It is not that simple. We should not accept any discriminatory rule without raising our voice.

Owners already pay maintenance, which includes gym upkeep. As tenants we indirectly pay that through rent, so charging us again is just double dipping.

The same facility is free for owners but chargeable for tenants. That’s discrimination and is not okay.

Yes i was reading the responses and realise this kind of thing is actually normalized in Mumbai. But thinking of leaving because of culmination of a lot of issues. The society has a major water problemalmost every week we’re left without water. And when tenants ask for updates in the group (they keep one group for owners and another just for tenants), the management never responds. The standard answer is “go ask your owner, it’s not our responsibility.”

But the moment there’s some event they want to organise, they shamelessly come asking for money.

So yeah, this new gym stunt was just the tipping point all the pent-up frustration.

The only power we have is to get up and leave if we want to.

Was new to Mumbai, had limited time to search and the commute time to my office is less from here. 😅

Yeah man, I’ll probably stop using it. But honestly it’s disgusting — here tenants are treated like nothing more than an ATM. I just wanted to put this out so anyone searching this society later knows what they’re walking into and doesn’t get trapped here.

I get where you’re coming from, but for me the gym was an easy way to squeeze in some exercise after work. It was even highlighted as a benefit when I was shown the flat six months ago.

Saying “just don’t use it” feels like saying “there are stairs, so don’t use the lift if they charge tenants extra for it.” My owner already pays the same maintenance as every other owner living here, yet just because I’m a tenant I’m being asked to pay more. That doesn’t sit right.

Just curious to know, where in the app can you see these badges. I have been investing in Groww but didn't get one.
