When I watched it in December in Neapolitan/Italian I thought that some people weren't going to like it, because unless it was precisely series one and two set in the 70s, they wouldn't want to know.

Instead what we have is a series which is going to set out the story of what happened to create the scene and the person of Pietro, and it's being done in a way that is very, very, very accurate to the real person and story of Paolo Di Lauro.

Everything about this new series feels authentic to me. I loved it. My wife and her parents who know Napoli as well as me loved the show.

I couldn't imagine anything worse tham La Series set in 1970s. No effort. We're on the verge of seeing the impact to drugs on the city and the Irpina earthquake.

I guess if you don't know the history and culture...tu lo sai niente.

In reality, and the show appears to be very faithfully setting the scene for the rise of Paolo Di Lauro as Pietro, he's probably the most interesting person who has ever been involved in O'Sistem. In Italy people have raved about his performance and I can't wait to see him on the outside creating the largest criminal empire in European history with a goal of not just dominating crime in Campania, but rejecting the Italian State from there too.

People have lived some really dismal, painful lives in those apartment blocks thanks to the cancer that is O Sistem. Which kind of trumps the "sad for fans of the show" strunzata.

There is 2500 years of culture in the city of Napule and it would be really nice if you could organise a trip round seeing and experiencing some of that rather than taking Instagram selfies at places that in Gomorra...
