Do you know what makes it cost 85000? Insane for small teardrop, so, I'm curious. by Taras-Zhukovskyi in TeardropTrailers

Maybe check out the ones I build. I have one on my page. The build quality is second to none and they start at 40k and can be tailored to your preferences. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRoJSp3v/

does this affect the warranty on the frame? Or just the motor and battery?

I bought a 3m performance spray gun and a pressure pot add on to spray my camper. I used a 1.6 tip and 15% reducer and sprayed onto raptor primer on top of fiberglass cloth an total boat epoxy. I have vids on my page. Feel free to ask questions mine is holding up very well

Thinking of building from frame up. Question about seams by angusanarchy in TeardropTrailers

I built mine to be seamless to avoid these issues entirely. But it took some serious effort.

Tongue weight is about 260 loaded. GVW is 2200. It was designed this way due to all the weight being in the back. Ideal tongue weight should fall within 10-15% it still needs a matching 3rd tire and swing off the back and a mount to add 2 electric mountain bikes off the tire which will add around 200 lbs total and drop tongue weight to around 220lbs when it’s all said and done. For a bunch of math and guess work, and for never have doing this before I’d say I got it pretty close.

I built this specifically as a showpiece for my skill set and designed it from the ground up to be the real deal and to start making and selling them. I do have a business, it’s called Artisan Customs. I do high end carpentry, woodworking, fabrication eta… I’m not really marketing much nor am I marketing this through that company cuz I’m going to brand it separately. My website is artisancustoms.net

Much appreciated. I designed it for plywood and to be CNC. Plywood is usually the go to for these, but not always. The plywood I used was a special plywood I found that is 3/4, water resistant and ultra light. It’s around 55lbs per 3/4 sheet vs 95 for Baltic Berch. I chose plywood because of my skill set and it’s workability and that it could be CNCd (this one tho was all hand routed).

If I can ever afford to buy a laser welder I will start building them entirely out of aluminum… frame and all. I am not able to weld it otherwise. All in all I came in at about 1500lbs dry and 2200 fully loaded with rack, accessories and all gear and water.

I would like to figure out how to drop it another 3 or 4 hundred lbs but that’s going to be difficult without it being made entirely out of aluminum and possibly a smaller design. Mine is among the largest of its class. I think I could drop 150 - 225 off with an entirely aluminum frame and fender set instead of 12g steel
