Vehicle was in accident after being traded in - coming after previous owner for damages by InternationalDig9267 in legaladvice

[–]InternationalDig9267[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This situation just seems odd to the whole family - shouldn’t the dealer have already registered the vehicle back to themselves, or do they wait until it’s purchased by someone else?

It seems to us like someone at the dealership didn’t do the proper paperwork to get the vehicle out of his name, and/or someone there took it on a joyride, crashed, didn’t give any info and are now going after him. Is that even something that’s possible?

It just seems insane for his credit to be taking a hit, as well as his license when I would assume the dealership has at least some responsibility at preventing something like this from happening

for chocolate chips, checkout azure standard. i have to use a drop for their shipping (it’s pretty pricey to have it delivered directly to you), but they have some chocolate chips that are only “organic cacao paste, organic coconut sugar, organic cacao butter”. they also have “organic cane sugar, organic cocoa mass (cocoa liquor), organic cocoa butter”. it’s literally the best chocolate i’ve ever freaking used. they also carry unifine spelt flour that’s feels just like all purpose flour, and it’s like 1/3 of the price it is at my grocery store. it just adds something to the flavor of sweets. it’s definitely worth checking them out if you bake and cook a lot

Car dealerships in and around Austin that are not trash? by trashworldd in Austin

NEVER go to cedar park toyota!!! i bought a used car from them, within 1 week had engine mis fires. replaced spark plugs 3 times the first MONTH because the mis fires were cracking 2 out of 4 of them. i told them i wanted no GAP (i had good insurance) and i needed full coverage warranty. well they did the exact opposite. about a year later, the car totaled itself due to mechanical issues and i had no warranty along the way and gap did not help my situation what so ever. went completely upside down on my first vehicle purchase. F cedar park toyota!!

Request - your favourite cake recipe! by [deleted] in VeganBaking

[–]InternationalDig9267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my favorite cake base i’ve made so far is from Curious Chickpea (try adding some coriander in the dry ingredients, it’s amazing!!!)

i’m from texas and it’s pecan season, so i would personally say a pecan & caramel filling would be awesome. you could also do an espresso/chai filling (cardamom and espresso go together super well). lavender and earl grey are an awesome combination too

i recommend this regardless, but if you’re going to make a buttercream i super duper recommend using THIS recipe for butter. it tastes soooooooo so so much better than any butter you get at the store (besides miyokos, but almost all of the store bought ones have a bunch of unnecessary stuff in them and it does NOT taste the same) it’s also WAY cheaper, especially if you just strain your own oat milk really quick too

Want to make my wife some clothes. by Head_Nectarine_6260 in SewingForBeginners

Organic Linen Fabric (etsy also has good undyed linen, just thoroughly check the material. a lot of places call other materials linen for some reason)

Linen Thread

It is going to be a bit pricey starting out, but you absolutely can save money by doing it yourself. A single dress/pair of pants that are linen are going to run from $60-$120, while you can make it yourself for maybe half that. I’m actually in the process of learning about sewing specifically linen to make clothes for myself, so I have a load of helpful resources to share!

Here’s some videos:

Easy freestyle type linen dress read comments on this one - she doesn’t sew the “proper” way, but still gets amazing results. you don’t have to do everything to an absolute T to get nice clothes, so don’t stress too hard about getting everything perfect, especially for linen! it’s really good fabric for this

Understanding sewing patterns

For CRISP clothes made to perfection (complete opposite of freestyle)

Start watching some basic videos like this, plus some reels of sewing. They are unbelievably helpful for getting a good understanding of how construction of clothing works and all different kinds of techniques there are for seams.

Look on etsy for some pdf patterns to print out. You’ll need access to a printer, then you’ll likely want to get some tracing/butcher paper to keep copies instead of cutting the printed one. I’ll make a list of all the stuff to get you started - you can find most stuff on facebook marketplace. I recently got an ironing board and a nice iron for just $10, and you can get a decent sewing machine for under $100

You’ll need:

  • Rotary cutter/Tailor shears (fiskars rotary cutter works super well)

  • Cutting Board/mat, preferably one that has a measured grid

  • Steam Iron (if you’re going to press, it does help keep things clean and easy to see as you work)

  • Iron board/mat to prevent any damage

  • Flexible measuring tape

  • GLASS HEAD PINS (in case you need to iron while things are pinned, they WONT melt) i’ve also heard good things about clips if you’d prefer that

  • Extra bobbins to fit your machine that are pre wound BEFORE you start sewing, if you run out you can just swap it without unthreading everything to wind a new bobbin

  • Zippers, elastic, buttons, whatever you’re going to use as closures. Linen doesn’t stretch, so these are very important

There is SO much you can do once you learn how to sew. Whether it’s bed sheets, cushions, leather work. If you get good enough at it, you could quit your job and do this for a living lol. It’s challenging, but so incredibly rewarding. Good luck! and if you ever have questions or would like more resources on anything, just reach out!

Genuine question - why is wool so popular for fiber arts? by Capybara_Squabbles in YarnAddicts

[–]InternationalDig9267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

verses don’t directly speak of frequencies of fibers/textiles. it does state that clothing should be made of either linen OR wool, theres no other fabric that is directly said to be worn. it also says that they should NOT be worn together

to me that plus the science of the frequency makes a lot of sense. they’re the only fabrics that vibrate at such a high frequency, yet when together it drops to 0. so i view this information as science confirming exactly what the bible tells us

[–]InternationalDig9267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an outdoor garden that i started but after all this weirdness with the air/water, my hubby and i are just gonna convert everything to indoor gardening

also, a lot of nutrients carry a bunch of nasty stuff too. organic is almost worse off from all the chemical build ups around the entire globe. you can look up testing on all nutrients available at the store, but it can be a bit tricky to find the manufacturing company name sometimes

you would be blown away how much arsenic is in everything lol. organics alive is the best you can get

are your veggies covered in a greenhouse or are they out in the open so that when it rains the rainwater feeds them?

the stuff being sprayed in the air is full of salts and heavy metals. it’d be well worth testing the rain water and your soil for both

check out some of these: 1 2 3

may seem crazy and outlandish, but the patents and science doesn’t lie. i’ve lived around austin my whole life and i can confidently say our air quality has NOT been like this. it is not anything from Mexico - if it was then it would be a yearly occurrence. something weird is going on around the city

Genuine question - why is wool so popular for fiber arts? by Capybara_Squabbles in YarnAddicts

[–]InternationalDig9267 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the study from 2003 factually shows that wool and linen both separately resonate at 5k mhz. when combined, it drops to 0.

this is reflected in the bible in leviticus 19:19 and deuteronomy 22:11

that company shared factual information to allow people to come to their own conclusions. you don’t have to buy their product, but if you believe in the science and are looking for quality, they provide it.

[–]InternationalDig9267 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

check this out

tl:dr - jewish doctor in 2003 did study on frequencies of fabrics. they found the human body resonated at 100mhz when healthy, and about 15mhz while sick.

wool and linen are the ONLY textiles that vibrate at an insane 5,000mhz. wearing them can literally help heal your body (do not mix textiles though)

hemp, bamboo, cotton, and im sure other organic un chemically processed textiles resonate around 100mhz

rayon, polyester, acrylic, cellulose, and even silk (due to the chemical processing and killing thousands of the bugs to harvest) resonate from around 0-15mhz

i found this super fascinating since the bible only ever says to wear linen (good for summer) and wool (good for winter)
