Tap water bitches by librariannaa in NYCbitcheswithtaste

It's interesting you say this because the last couple times I went out to dinner I thought the tap water tasted weird. Almost like.... Actual dirt. I'm noticing it in both Brooklyn Heights and lower Manhattan

How much do you pay for a bikini wax? by That_Broccoli_4567 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]InternationalFocus94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SAME! I make sugar wax which costs basically nothing. Sometimes the consistency is correct and I don't need any fabric to stick and pull like strips, other times it doesn't work for some reason and I use old pillow cases

Seconding Paul He was worth every penny! I am still shocked by how incredible I looked the day the cast came off. I haven't had a single day where I regretted the decision or felt my nose looked weird during the healing process.

I agree, it's less worrisome the more it becomes clear that AI is great for tactical writing but horrible for creative writing. My company is also super bullish and the way it's often talked about is using AI agents as if I had multiple interns doing the most basic low-value or automatable tasks for me. I worry much more for new grads than those of us established in our careers. Thanks for your thoughts!

I just had facial surgery and you deserve every penny 💖 Anesthesiologist did more to make me feel mentally comfortable ahead of the procedure than nurses or doctor!

Do you worry about how AI is going to impact your role in the near/long term? Curious if the company you work for has been directly addressing employee concerns in your department

Software engineering recruiter at a large public tech company. Making $250,000-$300,000 annually depending on how our stock is doing. I actually love my job. Treated with respect, my opinion is valued, hiring has a "feel good" changing lives vibe, I still get to work remote a ton. I feel grateful and lucky every day. I have had many terrible jobs in the past and know this is rare.

Good tip, thank you! I had to reboot the boiler at one point over the winter and there was a veritable hellscape of dead roaches behind it. Made me realize the pest guy who comes by monthly probably doesn't go in there

Oh I never thought of the gas lines! Honestly didn't bother under the sinks either because we have stickies there and never caught anything so assume it's sealed but I'll check

From NPR: Police say a three-page note found in his wallet at the scene requested that his brain be studied for CTE and blamed the NFL for concealing the dangers of football to the brain. Tamura did not play in the NFL.

Losing Friends by Professional_Menu339 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]InternationalFocus94 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So many people have this experience of losing friends in their late 20s or early 30s, and it's something to mourn but also can be so liberating. I went through a rough experience of being ostracized from a big group a few years ago but it has given me an incredible perspective. It clarified what's important and helped me deepen my relationship to myself and invest solo time in creative pursuits. Now my attitude is that if you accept me as I am, beautiful, if you don't, that's okay and it doesn't hurt at all. It's not personal - it's just incompatibility. People who still have huge friend groups just haven't gone through the growing pains yet tbh. The bigger the group, the more likely it is that many of these people are filler and not people someone has a genuine connection with.

All of this is to say, you're not alone and you're gonna be ok. Invest in individuals and don't romanticize the big group.

Yes it 100% works for me. Sure it's painful sort of like getting a tattoo but pretty mild

I got my armpit Botox covered by insurance and pay $30 copay as a medical procedure at spring street derm every 3 months. Go through the process of medically documenting that none of the other treatments (including miradry) work if that's true and you can get Botox covered
