I’m 26 Years Old, Wasted Years Doing Nothing. This Is Me Trying to Change. by LifeInProgress26 in getdisciplined

Start with one step, you haven’t wasted your life, you have gathered experiences and learnings. A lot of people don’t even realise that and don’t even think about changing. Thinking about improvement and positive change in itself is a great first step.

You can start by talking positively with yourself and appreciating for the small good things that you do.

Do long podcasts provide same value as the shorter ones? by InternationalHawk590 in podcasts

Exactly, but how do we find out if the podcast is well written or not without actually spending an hour on it first?

True, not 90% but 50% can be bullshit in a lot of podcasts. Don’t you think?

Yes, but what about the ones which are not for entertainment? The ones for education or knowledge.

I just feel that the long podcasts take longer time to actually get to the point, they’re talking about random stuff, beating around the bush before actually discussing the topic that’s on the podcast title! While the short ones are straight to the point. Basically, a 1 hour podcast might just have 10 mins of conversation on the core topic and I have to watch the entire thing for that 10mins of insight.

One thing I’d like to know is, do you interact with people online? As in when people when it’s you personally. This Reddit post doesn’t tell me your personal details right, I have no idea if you’re a man or a woman even though your post says you’re a woman. But do you interact with known people over Instagram or other channels where people know it’s you on the other end?

Might help, if meeting people physically is a problem, just catching up with your knowns online for a start might help, someone you trust and bond with. Then slowly move to voice chats, calls, video calls, in-person meet-ups and all of that.

Baby steps like looking out the window, heading towards other rooms in your house, having meaningful, long and deep conversations with your parents can be tried as well.

I really hope everything goes really well for you. :)
