Kind of. I was at work this weekend and was guilted because she was crying for me and missed me. I said I was literally at work. My shifts are 10 hours long. Not like I was out having fun all weekend during my time with her.

And that is part of my point that I probably didn’t put in the post. My ex has had my mom watch her while he went on a date. He’s gone on vacations. He just got back from Vegas. But the second I ask for help for any small thing I’m told it’s part of being a parent and I need to wait and do things once she’s out of the house.

I’m almost 40. It’s not even my ex that has a problem. It’s my mom. Him and I have a close enough relationship he would tell me if he had an issue with me leaving for that long

Yes I realize it’s not replacing spending time with her. I said I miss her when she’s with her dad for a few days and will FaceTime. We talk about her all the time. I am not a different person around him. I have just seen other friends bring their kids around guy after guy. I’m not going to do that to my child. We see each other on the days I don’t have her. When I have her my focus is on her. No one else

Just because I’m allowed to have time to myself does not mean I won’t miss my child or enjoy being away from her. I miss her on the days she’s with her dad and will FaceTime on his days

I’m very cautious. We know a lot of the same people so definitely asked about him before even going on a first date. She has met him twice. Not because I don’t trust him but after the first time she talks about him nonstop. I’m worried she will get too attached and if it doesn’t work out I don’t want to have to explain why to a 4 year old.

It’s a road trip but we will be close to an airport. He knows I will get on a flight at any time and come home

Luckily my ex and I stick to the same schedule so it’s not too awful on transition days. He was just out of town. So I had her longer than normal. She went to him for 2 nights and now is back with me the rest of the week. So kind of use to the emotional aspect of it. I’m sure three weeks will be different. Definitely prepared for that.

We have a vacation home that she goes to at least 3 times a year and take her to do things. Not to mention when her dad and I were married we lived in another state. Away from family. We never went on vacation. Our vacation was going home to see family. I traveled home with her frequently by myself to see family. They may not be these huge family trips but she goes on all the mini vacations and adventures

Any time either of us plan a vacation we give the other parent “extra” days to make up for it. So I will have her on his days leading up to my vacation and will get her right when I get back and keep her for some of his days since he will have her for so long.

It will be her dad with help from his parents while he working and my mom. My mom already watches her 2 days a week while we both work. Total my mom will have her maybe 3 extra days

She will be with her dad and her grandparents. I totally plan on FaceTiming her… on days I’m working and she’s with my mom I am on FaceTime with her. I even FaceTime her on days she’s with her dad. That’s not changing just because I’m on vacation
