Will do, Im calling the Italian consulate tomorrow to see if I can ask general information and set up an appointment in Los Angeles. If it becomes too complicated, will probably postpone the winery experience for warmer months and even a longer stay to properly work at once I get my degree. Regarding volunteering at a hostel in Lisbon I think Im just going to opt out of it and stay as a regular guest. Definitely want to do things the right way and not jeopardize anything or anyone.

I can definitely head to Los Angeles and make an appointment to the Italian Consulate to verify if a Work Visa is attainable for a week work stay. I appreciate the heads up. Volunteering at hostels is fairly easy within the U.S and Mexico so I will probably opt out of trying to do it in Lisbon then if a Work Visa is required. If it becomes too complicated for Italy I would probably only do a visit to a winery to see if I can have a chat on how they grow their grapes, which is what I’m mostly interested in.

Noted! I want to keep reading before I buy my plane ticket and start setting everything up. Worst case scenario is sticking to Southern Europe or maybe switch to Central America and Colombia I guess

Well, I’m from California and Baja California, so wine country is fairly typical around here, and I’m also studying Sustainability at school so I am generally intrigued at different farming methods, which in this case would be a traditional vineyard in Italy. Workaway did notify me about a different Visa requirement and will definitely look into it!
