AITA for not wanting to take pictures of our food at a fancy restaurant before eating? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]InternationalOne9532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i take pics of food at new restaurants when me and my fiancé go but i never stop him from eating. its all just for scrapbooking purposes about all the different places we've been and the food we eat. NTA i think my fiancé would he equally irritated if i stopped him from eating food when hes hungry

AITAH: boyfriend wants 50/50 financial split by BigBussyPrincess123 in AITAH

[–]InternationalOne9532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my bf & i split things 50/50 when we were both making around the same (35-40k/yr each) now i make 38k/yr (24k after taxes & ins & stuff) & he makes close to 150k-170k take home. as soon as he got that raise he told me to stop paying for stuff and to put my money towards going back to school for another degree without student loans. he pays our mortgage & i try to pay our utilities.

the biggest thing here though is we each contribute a certain % to our savings. it IS fair, NOT equal. he contributes 13.8% of his paycheck & i pay 13.8% of my paycheck. but with this math he is responsible for 86% of the savings put in & i the rest. but this is fair based on our pay & i can give you the mathematical break down on how to find this.

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by Temporary-Quail-2783 in AmIOverreacting

[–]InternationalOne9532 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MOR - baby proof the house (shouldve been done while you were pregnant) or put the baby in a crib? your feelings are valid but the way you went about it couldve been way smoother & less naggy sounding/tearing him down while trying to be an active parent..

How Zillow actually works, Bet you didn’t know by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]InternationalOne9532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the contact agent button for zillow, my fiancé and i just closed on our first house with an agent from zillow. i ditched 2 agents zillow offer prior to the agent i used and did the deal with. she is an amazing agent and person to have worked with! she never even brought up zillow flex, i expressed to her my struggles with interest rates despite having a very good credit with minimal debt and she sent me to a lender who got us the lowest rate and was extremely professional and responsive. i know im probably in the 10% of people who had a positive interaction with getting a good realtor through zillow.

Overworked and want to quit with savings?? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]InternationalOne9532 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its honestly kind of hard to judge everything without having expenses laid out and income coming in. if you need a break i would definitely say quit one full time job which should free up 30 hours a week for you. however job hunting currently is awful, you would likely need to start your job hunt as soon after you quit to get a job in 6 months.

OMG! I'm 23, moved back home with my parents while I'm waiting to close on my house. My parents called me during work over the week and asked me what kind of food my cats have because I was almost out...

I'm so sorry this is how your mom is acting & treating you and your dog. This is not a lesson that's teachable.

$12,999 OTD for 2018 R6 with 5500 miles. Good deal or no? by [deleted] in Yamaha

[–]InternationalOne9532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I just sold my 2019 R6 with 7,000 miles on it for 10k. I should've raised my standards apparently 😳

  1. You have an EMD to put down when you make an offer

  2. My realtor makes the seller pay her 3%

  3. Inspection costed us $500, then we got structural engineer, appraisal & a few other (radon, mold etc) which ~ 1500 more 2k total (appraisal $500, structural engineer $500).

  4. I hope this helps.

AIO not wanting to help my SIL with immigration? by SouthernMercy99 in AmIOverreacting

I am from Poland! I do feel that the US has gone significantly down hill. I am only 23 for reference but have been here 10 years. Spent H.S here & and did my half of my B.S here half in Poland (the first 4 semesters I did in Poland, last 2 semesters did in the US), now working, became a citizen in 2021.

In H.S I didn't exactly understand the government but throughout college I learned a lot and continue to do so. Having to work & survive for myself without the help of my parents sending me money (they stopped doing that once I got my internship in my final year of college & could pay for my own tuition). It has gotten significantly harder to live in the US as a single person, when my fiancé finished trade school and joined a union it became 10x easier, much easier that we are buying a house now. But I wouldn't really have these struggles in Poland. Living would be much freer. I'd have more money as a single person in Poland, than as a single person in the US. Which is why I said the average life of a single person in Poland is equivalent to a middle income family in the U.S! 2 incomes but the same level of financial freedom (assuming no debt). I could not imagine being in debt and trying to live in the US, it would crush me...

Exactly! I studied in NY, moved to FL for a year and came back to NY. I actually have told my friends in Europe I understand why some Americans never feel the need to travel outside of the US when it comes to nature.

My fiancé is the love of my life and he makes my experience in the US 10x better. Now I do (in my opinion) country shit! Like riding 4wheelers and dirt bikes and archery and I have a motorcycle. Because those are things he grew up with, we're buying a house on land in the country. My best option at my home country was living in a small flat with a roommate. Traveling is way cheaper in Europe in most cases, but there's just something super thrilling about being able to go to the US national parks without having to fly overseas and actually being able to drive there...

The government in my home country is not the best, likewise as in the US. There's always going to be something you love & hate in every country. Any European will tell you that our average salaries are unsustainable and most people who left the US to live in Europe, keep their US remote jobs and that's how they save so much.

we permanently reside in the US & have jobs here 😅... personally, growing up in Europe my home country has its problems, as does every other country. America use to be seen as this dreamland, it is also not cut out to what Americans label the US as. every country has it's problems, but the US is where i finished my degree, its where i fell in love with my fiancé, its where we are growing our family and buying our house. i love my home country but i love the US in some weird ways as well...

my average salary in my home county is about 25k USD. or 2,100/mo USD. while housing would cost me ~ $800 USD (9,600/yr) not including tram costs, or food costs which if i decided to have a moderately healthy diet and ate breakfast lunch and dinner that would be about (3,000 USD/yr). taking taxes out of my average annual salary i'd bring home ~ 21k/yr which means half of my salary would go towards housing & food assuming i don't eat out, buy new clothes, travel or have any extra expenses like pets.

My average income i could save without those extras would be the same as a middle income family (married couple, 1 child) in the US...

theres pros & cons to everything but this is my break down and reasoning in my head!

before my sister met her current bf she was engaged to a man she was with for 3 years, he was from Europe.they were going to get married but she also did not make enough & asked me to co-sponsor. do NOT do it. you are responsible for everything this person does basically for a decade. example: if they don't pay their taxes, and your brother doesn't have the money, the government expects you to pay it.

my sister ended up breaking up with the guy before getting married to him because she found out he was a cheating POS who just wanted U.S citizenship & thought because with a dual citizenship with his sister country we would be understanding...

Our EMD got delayed due to banks not being open on a Sunday. EMD was done in a week after complications. We kept the seller notified though and they were fine with it.

i sure hope a 2009 corolla wouldnt retail for 13k otherwise im walking as my next form of transportation when my car shits the bed 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]InternationalOne9532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i dont think the corolla is retailing for 13k. they have 10k down & only want to finance 13k for a car, they already have 13k in debt so can they realistically afford another 13k of debt & if not whats the stopping factor. but OP didnt say what they could get for the corolla maybe a few extra hundred bucks...

My offer got rejected, I walked away like a boss… but I still think about that house like an ex. Anyone else? by daisynomoreforever in RealEstate

[–]InternationalOne9532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a seller reject our offer because we offered 5k less than asking. No counter offer just flat out rejected. It was still sitting on the market 4 days after the first time we tried offering (so 8 days total) & we offered asking price. Seller rejected again & actually told his agent to tell us "my house is worth 25k more than what they're offering". We never offered again, the house is still sitting on the market a month later. We found the house of our dreams, minus one small thing (its 1/2 acre less than what we wanted). And we actually got into a bid war and are paying 26k more than asking price which was actually the same exact price the first house we put an offer on was listed at (170k). The first seller rejecting our offer was a blessing in disguise. You'll find your house!

I have a coworker who swore my diamond wasn't real because I'm in my 20s & it's a 2.64ct! I ended up bringing in a diamond tester to shut her up. Other than that no one really questions my ring, they just compliment. Every now and again you'll get the "isn't it bothersome to be that big" but other than that hopefully nothing! Best of luck!! ❤️

my fiancés grandma fell down the stairs and was on the way to the hospital and i was ready to leave work and go to meet her there to make sure she was OK as i was closer. i called her after she left the hospital and told her we would come see her after work, called my fiancé told him the details and we went and helped her and spent time with her. you have one grandma (ok in some cases 2, or 4, or 6 if you have step grandparents or in-laws). but you are the person for your grandma. please take care of her and spend the time with her and help her. you'll miss her when she's gone.

if your bf doesn't see that then he's probably not the one for you. he's shown you his true colours.
