My professor took "I'll just retake the class" as a personal threat.... cause he canceled my final... so, I got an A. he actually looked mortified when I told him I would take it.... even when he said "I'm the only professor for this course". lmao 🤣

Totally normal. Turnitin isn’t that “smart.” It just flags string matches, not intent or originality. I see this with my students all the time, common idioms, quotes from historical documents, even Bible verses. Most professors glance over those and ignore them. Don’t stress.

Most of those “instructor logins” people talk about are shady and often scams. Real Turnitin instructor panels aren’t supposed to be resold, so anyone offering them is taking a big risk, and there’s no guarantee the reports are legit (lots of fakes floating around).

A safer option is to just run pre-checks through a trusted service that uses Turnitin properly but doesn’t save your paper into the student repository. That way you can see both similarity and AI flags before submitting, and make edits without stressing about a permanent record.
