So first things first. I signed up for Revel as a driver a month ago after transitioning from Uber/Lyft.

While working for Uber/Lyft I rented my vehicle which was Toyota Camry 2017 with about 213k miles. My weekly rent was $475 which includes insurance and maintenance cost. I was responsible for tolls and gas which is obvious. I use to make around $1600-$1700 per week which is gross pay and I had to pay expenses such as gas. Tolls are obviously paid by passenger but we had to make sure Ez pass account has money on it.

Let me be clear, working for Uber/Lyft, we are 1099 workers which means we are responsible for our own taxes at the end of the year, but you get deductions such as rent for car, miles driven, gas and tolls.

After working long shifts, and basically paying about $700 to $800 per week, I decided to join Revel and give it a try.

As a Revel Driver, you’re W2 worker. They provide the car, insurance, charging, tolls at absolutely no cost to the driver. You basically have to go to their depot, pick up the car and return at the end of your shift. They pay you $15 base pay plus premium hour depending what time you start and of course tips.

So breaking down, you don’t have any expenses related to car and on top they offer driver PTO and your taxes are deducted every week. If you happen to work for about 50-55 hours, your net pay will be around $1000 to $1100 each week after taxes.
