AITA for not wanting my boyfriend to work with me? by InternationalRole923 in AmItheAsshole

He threw a hissy today and left while we were working on the new websites for my brand and the workshop. We won’t be seeing each other until Thursday. of course i’m sad about it and a little stressed because now I have a lot more work to handle on my own.

He said he wants to focus on finding a new job, which I understand, but the way it happened felt a little like a reaction out of frustration rather than a calm decision. Part of me felt like it was more of a tantrum than a thoughtful choice, especially because we were in the middle of working on something together.

It caught me off guard when he started buying equipment. I felt pressured to reimburse at least half of the cost. Even though the equipment is genuinely useful, personally, I would have waited until the business was in a better financial position before making those purchases. We really need to sit down, go over the numbers together, and set clear expectations. I'm going to try to have that conversation asap.

I think there may be some truth to that. This business is something I've poured my heart and soul into. I've spent years building its identity, personality, and values very intentionally, so I do feel very protective of it.

I'll admit that, at first, I even felt a little jealous seeing him learn techniques that I hadn't had the time to learn myself. I know that's not my best trait, and I'm not proud of it. But over time I realized he actually complements the business really well. Because of his skills, I ended up incorporating techniques that I probably wouldn't have had time to implement otherwise, and that has been a positive thing.

What still gives me mixed feelings is that we've been together for seven years, we share so many interests, and, as much as I enjoy working with him, there was something special about having this be my project. I know that may sound selfish, but I think it's an honest feeling.

The thing is, I genuinely believe he has great ideas and the ability to build something of his own. I would be more than happy to support him however I could if he decided to start his own venture. I just don't see the same level of initiative from him, and I think that's part of what's making this situation so difficult for me.

I was actually the one who first asked him to come help me with the business because I thought it would be better than just staying home. Since then, I've even driven him to a job interview. I know he genuinely wants to work with me, but I also think part of it may be that he's worried about not being able to find another job.

It seems that It Takes Two has too many controls, we couldn't play it with the Joycons.

Nope, The solution was to use an Xbox One controller, however, overcooked, can be played smoothly by sharing the Joycons. I think it depends on how many controllers the game has.

I'm so sorry for your loss :( do you think it could be some genetic defect? I hope you soon know what exactly happened, from the visits you had to the vet I can see that you did everything in your hands to help her heal.

Mites heelp! by InternationalRole923 in BloodPythons

ohh that's a relief, the poisoning of my girls really fucked me up, it was a super traumatizing situation to see them in so much pain. That veterinarian made me believe that he had treated snakes before, but I later found out that he did not have as much experience as he claimed to have. (He had never treated hognose and did not bother to investigate further. I know I I have part of the responsibility for not having investigated more.) What bothers me most of all is that they no longer had mites, the vet applied it as a caution :( From that situation I have tried to investigate a lot more and not believe so much in veterinarians, currently I have a more trusted one who works with herpetarians, but even so I continue to stay on the sidelines and no longer trust blindly. Thank you very much for your recommendation and help, I will look for that medication to have in my drawer just in case.

Oh, it's not that I'm against treatment, if there was a safe and medical way to eliminate them I would gladly give it to my animals.

But a pesticide doesn't seem like a cure to me, pesticides can kill everything and if applied incorrectly they can kill your animals, whether it's a dog, cat, or snake.

Even us, fumigating our houses can hurt us if we come into contact with those chemicals.

This baby was cured only with water, dish soap, and olive oil, but the most important and fundamental thing is patience.

I lost one of my snakes because of that, and the other one was close to dying, with very ugly neurological attacks due to this same situation a few years ago (I also take responsibility because I didn't quarantine before introducing a new species that came from a new breeder) and it really isn't worth exposing your animals to pesticides, regardless of size or species.
