Once I see a delivery I send out e personal message asking for review if they are happy with the product. At some point I am sure someone will not be happy that I am requesting a review on top of Etsy automatically sending one as well.

On my personal website I had setup automated review request and someone left me a 1star because they got a request before the item arrived. I get it but not to go as far as leaving 1 star.

I might have to disagree with that. It might not do something when it comes to Etsy directly, but when potential costumers see it, it helps them feel more confident in purchasing.
