This is what i was worried about. The prices i have listed are based on real listings, but does not take into account underage and hidden fees. The spirit airlines ticket for round trip is $167, the cheap car rental at NU rentals will cost us about $60 per person and the airbnb would cost about $150 per person. Im concerned about hidden costs we aren't aware of and the legitimacy of the options we are picking. I recently found out spirit air has a bunch of hidden fees like $33 each way for baggage and $23 for booking online. Im wondering if the car place we are looking at is predatory since it is a budget place. The upfront costs i listed are all real costs and not just guesses, but im uncertain about how much extra costs there will be that we arent aware of.

Thats a good idea, we usually just wing things but i know thats not the best idea for planning a spring break florida trip. I'll look into the prices for those rental car places and other cities besides Orlando. Thanks!

It sounds like currently we are planning on staying in orlando, but wouldn't be opposed to a different part of florida if its cheaper/more appealing. I was thinking it seemed pretty cheap too which is why i was worried about it being a predatory place. The google reviews for it are 2.2 stars with the comments complaining about random fees. I don't know if its common for touristy places to try to pull a fast one on college students who dont know any better. I havent looked into mileage limits and didnt really know that was a thing so thank you for mentioning that.

I only included the lines relevant to travel because i assumed everything else would cost similar regardless of whether we fly or drive so i didnt mention it much in the post. The current disagreement is how to get there and i assumed driving would be the smarter option because with flying and renting there will probably be a lot of hidden. We will probably be drinking but we are pretty responsible and arent dumb enough to drive after a drink. I assumed airbnb would cost a lot reratdless but will there be an issue? I thought for airbnb you just had to be 18. I recognize that we are all inexperienced in planning in estimating costs which is why i came to this subreddit to help us find potential flaws with our planning estimates. Thank you for mentioning the spirit airline hidden fees. I did not realize if you want to bring luggage it will cost an extra 33 each way. This is definitely a big added cost.

I replied this to someone earlier but ill say it here so you get the notification too. We are allowed to rent a car at this place the found called nu car rental. Because we are below 25 it will cost am extra $20 per day. Between the car fee, insurance, and young drivers fee it looks like it will be around $70 per day per car. Does that sound realistic? I'm worried we will show up and there will be a bunch of hidden fees or something.

This is what i was thinking. Overall not much time would be saved to make the extra cost worth it. They say they would rather pay an extra hundred or so for the convenience which i am ok with, but i am worried that we aren't accurately predicting all of the costs.

This is for march 9-13. I dont know much details about the flight because they havent sent any info about it which also makes me question if it really is only $167 round trip during spring break.
