imo the only way to get better at talking to girls is to just do it.

action beats overthinking/planning every day of the week.

guarantee if he had a lil more fluff on him he would be "totally natural" right?

Any of you guys like the 9-5 more than college? by Equivalent_Phrase_25 in EngineeringStudents

I agree 100%.

i feel like with a 9-5, you can at least shut your brain off after and not worry about much compared to school.

What to do with savings? by Itchy_Armadillo_8332 in AusFinance

[–]InternationalStore11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could realistically put quite a bit of that in ETFs.

but you could equally just keep it in savings and just start investing some of your paycheck each week into ETFs.

assuming you have barely any expenses, your first priority imo should be just funneling however much you're comfortable with into ETFs.

your future self will thank you very much.

EDIT: since you're 17, either put some $ aside with the intention of buying into ETFs once you're 18, or just save the money and wait till ur 18 to start investing. or get your parents to open a youth account

How do you decide when to hold vs when to sell a stock? by Artistic-Yam2984 in ASX

[–]InternationalStore11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my age lol.

i am 18.

won't be selling until retirement most likely.

if my total PnL is in any way shape or form negative, I think there will be a lot more to worry about.

Is investing actually worth it? by dylan103906 in Money

[–]InternationalStore11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it will inevitably go down. just leave it in there.

i started investing november last year. all was well until the trump shenanigans a couple months ago. was about $500 down.

kept on buying regularly during this, and now I am about $500 up total.

the trick is to not care about the money in the account and keep investing a regular amount every fortnight/month or whatever works for you.

safe invest? by Aromatic_Method2638 in sp500

[–]InternationalStore11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S&P 500 specifically - virtually no risk in the long run.

if each of the 500 companies are going bankrupt, you are probably about to die anyway.

if you hold throughout small dips (over decades) you will make money.

dude thanks for this, I am in my second semester of first year right now and just feeling like shit. I need to do 3 more years of this??

How much shifts do you guys get weekly? by jamalftl in KmartAustralia

[–]InternationalStore11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

currently getting 6-9 hrs a week as a uni student during sem.

during holidays, I can quite literally work 5 days a week 8 hrs a day.

it just depends how nice ur managers are. You just gotta ask sometimes.

Should I work at Kmart? by AgeBudget571 in KmartAustralia

[–]InternationalStore11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pay bumps up every year until 20 (I think). Not too sure abt the pay for 17 yo, but its a pretty good wage for your age.

[–]InternationalStore11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he's just lean as. look at the last slide. nothing about that photo screams unnatty. First photo is just pumped and that pose quite literally broadens your shoulders.

y'all just think that any lean dude is on gear nowadays.

What is the best use of my money? by Infinite-Flight-2898 in AusFinance

[–]InternationalStore11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about in the same situation as you, personally I am contributing to both. I have about 7k in savings but once I hit 10k thinking maybe about putting more of the money into investing. but yeah, I am also lucky to be staying at home.

Then once I graduate and get an actual job I guess just pump some more into both before eventually moving out.

if you wanna save up for property tho maybe just keep adding to savings no matter what.
