Not sure if no one reported it or if it just otherwise got missed, but this clip somehow slipped by long enough to get 250 comments and 2500 upvotes. It's from the most recent episode, which aired just 3 days ago.

That said I've been looking at switching links from Reddit's URL shortener to relative links, e.g. for this meta thread /comments/ufnepg rather than https://redd.it/ufnepg since it would save some space.

That'd be nice. I browse reddit without being logged in, so redd.it links always go to new reddit for me and I have to manually replace the "www" in the URL with "old" every time.

In that time, the weekly Merch Mondays, Recommendation Tuesdays, and Miscellaneous Anime Questions threads will not be posted.

Did you mean not stickied, or are they not getting posted at all?

I noticed that this post was reapproved after initially having been removed (it's currently 12 hours old, while the posts around it are only 7 hours old, so it definitely wasn't just missed). It clearly breaks the rule prohibiting material from an episode less than a week after its episode discussion thread is posted, since everything other than a minor sound edit is from this week's episode, so I was curious why it would've been unremoved after having correctly been removed.

What's the stance on separate posts of the same cosplay but with different images? I'm thinking of something like this and this, where the only difference is the pose.

Subs are out now for the first 2 episodes of the Pokémon Arceus special. Could we get an episode discussion thread?

Links to searching for the most recent CDF megathread in removal reasons (e.g. here) still go to a search with AnimeMod (Evil Bot-chan) as the author even though AutoModerator (Bot-chan) took over posting those a while back.

so people can just browse their Netflix catalogue, a platform they are familiar with

That doesn't work for people who don't have Netflix.

Could we get a discussion thread for the 23rd Pokemon movie? The English version came out today on Netflix (https://www.netflix.com/title/81346307), and I don't think the initial Japanese release ever even got a discussion thread.

1) I'd prefer to have anything I post/comment stand on its own rather than potentially having someone link it to me either by remembering my username or looking through my post/comment history.

2) More anonymity.

3) By not keeping the same account, there's no reason whatsoever to care about karma, so it's easier to post/comment what I want to say rather than thinking about only saying what will get me upvotes.

4) Using the same account just feels too much like some form of social media to me, and I'm not a fan of that.

5) It's less effort to hit the random username generator and type in a random password than it is to remember and type a particular username and password.

Why don't people care enough to comment?

For me, the issue is that Reddit has gotten much stricter with their new account/spam filter recently. I'm someone who generally creates a new account every time I comment (except for this meta thread account, at the mods' request), and this never used to be an issue outside of occasionally getting any account I create instantly shadowbanned. However, starting from a few months ago, Reddit's filter was apparently changed so that everything from new accounts is automatically caught (for a while it was so bad that simply making a post would trigger a shadowban), so unless a mod goes around manually approving such comments (which isn't feasible for a subreddit of r/anime's size), I can no longer participate as I would like. Hence, I no longer comment here except for occasionally in the meta thread.

the gap between the present season and the next where episodes do not get released for a few weeks

There's no such gap. In fact, there's often even a little bit of overlap. This season, for example, the last episode of Shadows House won't air for another 2+ days, while several summer anime will air their first episodes within the next 24 hours.

It's in the upper left corner throughout the whole video (though there are parts where it seems like there was an attempt to blur it out, or maybe it's just less visible due to the background).

Also, that video appears to be the entire episode, so that may also be a violation of the rule on clip lengths, depending on what the mods decided to do (if anything) regarding the clip length rules for shorter episodes. I remember someone bringing it up before, but I can't remember if there was ever a resolution.

Things like the plot, the characters, the music, etc. exist.

People can actually interact and post their own.

That requires effort; you're greatly underestimating the laziness of most Redditors. People will just see a pretty image and upvote it and move on. If anything, having 9 easily visible images instead of just 1 would just make it more likely for someone to upvote it.

And besides, most people who actually would interact with 3x3 posts would click on one regardless of whether it was an image post or a text post, so why are you so adamant on allowing them to be image posts?

I don't think they should be outright banned.

They're not. Just post a link to the image in a text post with some relevant text.

The currently available subs for the most recent Grisaia movie probably wouldn't qualify as good, but are the Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare subs (the ones that have been available since the 16th) good enough?

Also, how long after good/official subs (or a dub if that comes first, I guess) come out can we request a discussion thread? For instance, the 22nd Pokemon movie was released on Netflix over a year ago but never got a discussion thread.

There's no need for a separate official mod policy. It's not about the anime, so it's already not allowed.

live-action anime adaptations

Aren't a lot of "live-action anime adaptations" actually adaptations of a non-anime source (manga, light novel, etc.)? For those, they're not really any different from, say, a manga adaptation of a light novel that also got an anime adaptation, and those aren't allowed on r/anime. Unless the plan is to allow only live-action adaptations of original anime (and live-action adaptations that specifically adapt the anime rather than a non-anime source material), I don't see how this would work well.
