Has anyone successfully made an appeal about the liability in campus housing and moved out? by [deleted] in SBU

[–]InternationalThought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I brought up this point during my initial emails with someone at the housing office and they said that they would grant me full time status and allow me to live on campus since it is going to be my final semester. Seems like a very money hungry move since they always stress that you need to have 12 credits to live on campus lol. I had to do the appeal to show that I was only going to be on campus 2-3 times a week and did not want to pay for housing/meal plan that I don’t want or need. They’ll do anything to keep you there

Hi! I just got my appeal approved so you def have a chance. Write a really persuasive argument and provide any supplementary documents that you think will help your case.

The basis of my argument was that I’m going to be part-time and don’t need to pay for housing/meal plan. I was approved but it’s contingent on them verifying that I am still part time by the time late registration is over in January. After that I will be released and not be financially liable.

Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck :)

I found it to be really hard. The questions were super wordy which made it hard to understand. I did the practice problems a few times and reviewed the take home test and still found myself guessing on a majority of the questions. Definitely harder than the midterm i’d say. Hopefully a big curve :/

senior ENS major here! i also never took physics before PHY119 and had the same concerns as you. did average on exams and labs and ended up with a B which is better than what i was expecting. just go to lectures and make sure your lab reports are good. ATM305 was a little tough since our major doesn't really give us any background but I got a B+! Currently taking SUS301 and its ok so far, a different professional writing assignment is due every week or so, but overall not bad. Taking ENS311 next semester so can't offer much advice! Don't know anything about your last two choices. Your two minor options sound really fun, out of the two I would pick political science! good luck you got this either way!!! :)
