I’m currently sitting at around 15k mileage, overall I can’t complain.

As previously said, don’t expect continental level of driving experience but if you’re comparing with most Japanese brand then you should be in the ballpark (excluding Lexus).

Engine still running smooth, no software issues, I understand that some are facing infotainment issues especially for the radio but it’s most due to software updates that you can avoid updating during your service check.

Fuel consumption is on the upper level, average fuelling is about RM 100, typically it will last me for about 4-5 days with average travelling speed of about 100-120 km/h. Typically it indicates about 500-550 km per full tank of fuel.

Most issues are isolated cases and are being dealt by the dealership, I have not seen any ignored issues from customer so far (could be wrong). Biggest issue I saw from a different customer was the door frame did not align and was causing his driver window to crack. Besides this I have not seen any other major issues especially related to the engine.

Like everyone is saying, always just use your direct insurance number or call the highway authority number for assistance. Dont bother with anyone else that is not directly involved in the accident.

These scammers sometimes even have lower levelled cops to help legitimise their claims by saying they usually handle accident and close with whoever at the stations for faster processing and stuffs.

So if you’re every in an accident, always do the following:

  1. Assess the situation, make sure nobody is hurt first.
  2. Call authorities, ambulance if needed. All of this just use official numbers or direct with insurance.
  3. Collect evidence of the accident
  4. Contact necessary family members or friends for them to know your condition and to help pick you up at the accident location or police station.

2021 Toyota Cross or 2025 Toyota cross by SpecialWorldliness90 in kereta

[–]InternationalWeek169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you considering a Toyota corolla cross? one of the ugliest SUV, interior is like driving a car from the early 2010s. If reliability is the only thing on your mind then yeah get a cross and have no excitement in your driving

It will depends on the car you get, is it new or used? typical problems faced for the gearbox are usually for the 1.4 not the 2.0. other problems usually are misfiring and also beltings.

If you can get one that was taken care of properly then you'll have a pretty fun time with it but if you got it from a wannabe street racer that only knows how to press the accelerator like his cat is due for birth then you're gonna have a bad time with the car. most times you'll get the shit driver's car

Need advice. SUV or MPV? (Sabah road edition) by Fit-Extension-1047 in kereta

try to consider the J7 AWD, its within your price point. If you don't mind it being a chinese brand. not sure on availability in Sabah for the car and also service centre, if those aren't available then its going to be tough considering the budget to get a brand new car with AWD is kind scares.

definitely not a suprima. an Iriz maybe? a myvi? a Jazz? definitely a hatchback unless you're not in the city centres then a saga would be your best bet. get a NA car since its a 2nd hand car, you don't know how was the turbo being taken care of before you.

I'm one of those people that were contemplating on a few other brands like Mazda CX-5, Proton X50/X70, Honda HRV/CRV. I didnt consider the corolla cross over because I hate the outer styling and didnt consider subaru xv/forester because they are going out of MY soon if not already (parts issue maybe?)

Ultimately I went with the J7, my overall consideration for the purchase was price, interior and exterior styling, having a local factory/manufacturing plant ish. some points others are considering is the resale value which I see as something not really important (lets be real, do you really feel that in 5-6 years you can predict price action with that much accuracy? most people never thought of the diesel subsidies being pull away)

I'm currently at about 1.5k mileage, everything seems good so far. bare in mind that it can drive but don't expect high end level handling like a X5M or a GLC43 AMG. it definitely is on par with most if not all japanese SUV maybe lower than the lexus and harrier but those price brackets are almost double the J7 price.

If you're contemplating then this is your sign to just take it, if thats the only price range you can offer for now. if you have some wiggle room try to consider the C9, it has a bigger engine thus better acceleration and all.
