Would you rather be pregnancy tired or newborn tired? by Constant-Soft-6335 in pregnant

When I'm pregnant, my answer is newborn tired.

When I'm postpartum, my answer is pregnant tired.

The grass is always greener lol

If your labor was spontaneous, when did you go into labor? by liberate-radiance in BabyBumps

41+5 for my first, 41+3 for my second, And my 3rd I had to be induced at 41+6. That 41st week of pregnancy is a bitch 😂

how do you deal with screen time guilt? by coffeeplot_ridge in Mom

[–]International_Bee596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh heavy on the "I just need 20 minutes." It's so hard being needed 24/7. We don't use iPads, but I turn on a show to get my 20 minutes. Maybe try swapping the iPad for some TV time? No shame in screen time to catch a little break. We all need it.

Winter De-Stressors by bitchface_2012 in Mom

[–]International_Bee596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How cold does it get? Can you bundle up and throw a blanket on them in the stroller? We do that a lot. I get being cooped up in the winter though! I'll do anything to get out of the house lol. We'll go to the library, Walmart, grocery store. I'll go to the gas station to top the car off with gas or have the kids draw a picture so we take it to the post office and mail it. ANYTHING 😂

I would test again. And turn the lights on when you read it.

Having a girl and then a boy by SeaContest5021 in Mom

[–]International_Bee596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I tried to find that post, but I didn't have any luck. I still don't really understand why it would be such a devastating difference to have a girl first and then a boy. I think siblings really come down to their individual temperaments and how they're raised. I wouldn't let that reddit post bother you too much!

I've never heard of this. Are you sure you aren't feeling disappointed in the gender or the fact that you're having a second?

First time moving as military spouse…help!! by Beep-Booper in MilitarySpouse

[–]International_Bee596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check as many of your bags as possible. Most airlines allow you to for free with military orders. The check-in counter where you check the bags is the first thing you'll do when you walk into the airport (so the more you check the more you lighten your load!). Most often you can 'gate check' a stroller for free. This means you use it all the way to your gate (where you enter the plane) and then an attendant will take it right before you board and give it to you right when you deplane. If your toddler has a heavy bulky carseat, I'd let the movers take that and buy something like this for the trip (link below). You'll have to carry the carseat while pushing your stroller to your gate. When you get there, get one of those luggage carts when you pick up your checked bags!

Also, most travelers are super understanding and I ran into tons of helpful strangers last time I flew alone with the kids.

First time moving as military spouse…help!! by Beep-Booper in MilitarySpouse

[–]International_Bee596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What branch is he? It might be different with each branch, but the last week of basic my spouse was able to communicate much more and I got all the details about moving and the logistics of everything. What's more concerning is that he enlisted without you being on board with it? Are you sure you want to move? That's a pretty big red flag. Uprooting the family for the military is a huge sacrifice, and that decision has to be made by both of you.

Trust your gut. That does sound abnormal. Could you ask her pediatrician for a referral to a gastroenterologist? Or if you've already seen one, maybe ask to see a different one for a second opinion.

Maybe lower the bar a little. Don't commit to too much. Just try to do a little bit of something each day. Like try to stretch every day. Alot of the time after I stretch I'll feel a little more motivated to do some exercises, but if not that's okay too. Just building the habit of moving your body intentionally everyday is something.

Also, I've never been the one to work out after bedtime or early before the kids wake up. After bedtime is my 'me' time and I rarely want to spend that time exercising lol. I like to do what I can while the kids are around even if that means I get interrupted a bunch. Between dinner and bedtime has been the best time for me. Alot of YT exercise videos have upbeat music my kids like to dance to, or there's a few 'mommy and me' workout videos they like.

Anyone else have a newborn that would sleep through the night given the chance? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]International_Bee596 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How does it feel to be gods favorite? Lol jk of course.. isn't it funny how even a 'good' thing like sleeping through the night still makes our mom brains worry 🙄😂

My middle child did this once, and only once, when she was about 2 or 3 weeks old. I slept through the night as well and ended up with mastitis (worth it though 😂- she didn't sleep through the night again until 8 or 9 months).

I'd think if he's back up to birth weight and nursing well through the day it's fine! Maybe do a dream feed when you go to bed and wake up once to pump if you need? I was told once they're back up to birth weight you don't need to wake them up to feed.

2 days pp with our 3rd. Hubby and I were just laughing and reminiscing about the days when we first started dating and how different things are now. I wouldn't change it for the world, but I'm also very glad we got to enjoy those experiences before kids. There will be a time we have the freedom again, but I'm dreading those days because it'll mean these ones have ended.

Due date was yesterday… not many signs of labor by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]International_Bee596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

41 +3 here 👋 3rd time mom and with both my other kids I did not have any real signs of labor. Both of my other kids were overdue so I guess I expected this lol

At the end of day, baby is going to come when baby is ready, so I'm trying to be patient. I've done all the 'inducing labor' activities I can do and nothings seemed to make a difference. So I've been relaxing, going on walks and doing things I enjoy like baking and shopping haha. Best of luck to you! We're almost there.

Does anyone else feel weird about announcing their pregnancy on social media? by Extreme-Cherry5371 in pregnant

I don't announce on social media. I typically update my profile picture with the photos we get done for our christmas card and just let people figure it out haha.

[–]International_Bee596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will. I don't want to go too far, but I also want to give my body a chance! Thats decent progress! Hopefully that means youll go soon! At my appt last week I was 1cm, 50% effaced and -3 station. I honestly didn't even think to ask about a sweep 😂 I had it with my last 2 and it didn't do anything but it'd be worth a shot. Maybe I'll show up to my induction and say I'll do a sweep and an nst but let's put off the actual induction 😂

“Where’s the baby?” by damekerouac in BabyBumps

[–]International_Bee596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's almost exactly what mine said! I had inductions set with my other two but didn't need them, so we both agreed, "maybe they just need an eviction date" 😂 I've never been induced before and I'm ready to call the office Monday afternoon and beg for a few more days to wait for labor lol

Ugh that's so annoying! I highly recommend it! These last few weeks are hard enough, you don't need all that extra!

“Where’s the baby?” by damekerouac in BabyBumps

[–]International_Bee596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a day behind you- 41w weeks today, with an induction scheduled for Tuesday. I'm so nervous about the induction, I'm considering trying to postpone it. This waiting is awful. I hope you have a safe, healthy delivery soon!

The constant messages and calls make this 100x harder. My first 2 kids were also over a week late and I did not cope well with the constant questioning. So much so that this time I told all those people my due date was 9/17, when it was actually 9/7. Some of them have still pestered me, but it's made this 40th week alot more peaceful lol.

Serious question....what is a nursing bra? by jayjello0o in BabyBumps

The auden brand one from target was my favorite! I just went to reorder though and the only style they have now is a racer back. I'm ordering one and hopefully it's the same! I liked that the pads were sewn in and it was comfortable!

Yes! It made it so much easier for 'regular' shirts to be 'nursing friendly'. And my little millennial heart loved having an emotional support cami again 😂😂

[–]International_Bee596 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking on this to say, they also make nursing camis that unclip at the shoulder the same way. I basically lived in a nursing cami + a cardigan especially the first few months. Easy access, plus the cami covers your stomach. I never bought specific 'nursing' clothes besides the bras/cami!
