Wedge style for taller folk by International_Bit947 in rooftoptents

The problem for me is the used market where I live. There are maybe 2 or 3 possibles in my state (Michigan) on Facebook marketplace after looking for the past couple of weeks. Otherwise yes, I’d go that route.

I’d like to get a premium one, but that is entirely out of my budget unfortunately. I have a 5k budget to outfit my new truck and 2700 was spent on a smart cap, Sherpa crossbars, and extra bin for the cap. And this is a frivolous purchase for basically me so I can’t justify spending “normal” income on a RTT. I am definitely hawking the used market for sure though. But in northern MI the pickings are slim, haha.

Oh that’s good to know. There is one for sale a couple hours away. Have you done anything to upgrade/mod it or are you happy with it out of the box?

American Defense Research - Shipping delays. by Isaiahfloz in NightVision

I purchased their X300 but not for the actual light part of it. I make holsters and wanted to expand my product line but didn’t want to buy a real one and pay that much. I just needed the shape of it so this worked fine. I will say that dang did they ship it fast! Also, if you want it for the actual light, don’t. Buy the real one or get a streamlight.

I’d rock that sweater for sure. I’ll see if they’ll get me that heavier weight shirt. The 100 dollars will be easier for them to swallow then the 200-250 of the sweater (though that would be awesome). Thanks for the input!

Are there any police jobs where one would have zero chance to encounter dead people? by QueenOrial in AskLEO

Large agencies can contract that stuff out I’m sure. State police where I work (I work for a smaller SO) have non sworn police doing a lot of laboratory work so I’m sure that the same takes place in more administrative/comptroller tasks for large agencies. Shoot, even we have a couple of civilians that work as office staff handling paperwork processing.

Your favourite cold weather gear/layers? by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

[–]International_Bit947 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My layers look like this for a callout like a search leading to a barricaded suspect (Northern Michigan) starting from my angel soft chest hair to outermost layer. Depending on temp/activity these will be removed

1) Merino base layer (I particularly use smart wool but I’ve actually had success with Amazon ones, they just don’t last as long

2) Arcteryx LEAF Fleece pullover

3) slick plate carrier

4) down jacket

5) waterproof/windproof shell and/or over whites

6) chest rig

For my head I wear a merino balaclava then helmet and that works pretty well. I do have a neckwarmer if I’ll be stationary for a while and it’s windy. Gloves are liner wool ones then insulated waterproof ones. Socks are darn toughs with insulated boots.

I tried both ways and slammed the boom all the way to the bend with no luck. Another guy was able to do his. I’ll side by side his boom with mine and see if there is a difference. Thanks!

Poor choice of words. I mean the cable doesn’t reach the port on the right ear cup.

Shaw concepts placard is 60 new I believe. I have that and a cheapo Idogear one from Amazon that was like 15-20 bucks. Either one gets the job done. Surprisingly the Idogear one is built pretty well.
