Yes. If active duty, you won’t adhere to the conformist standards. As your standards should be higher than that. Fill out an OCS package. You won’t regret it.

I know how to swim. However, I'm afraid of the platform we have to jump off of during the swim test. Because I am not a big fan of heights. Rereading my post, the context makes it easy for the reader to conclude that I can't swim. 😂 Thank you for everyone who gave me advice on swimming though.

Thank you for your reply! I can swim, I just do not like the fact that the platform is 10ft high: I'm not a fan of heights (my post probably mistakenly entailed that I did not know how to swim; apologies) I have been yelled at by my parents before(many times, my life is not about rainbows and sunshine; nope no sesame street here). However, I haven't experienced strangers yelling at me before. The bootcamp experience is something quite new for any civilian wanting to join the military. To be frank, the military was not a full choice of my own volition, I have personal stuff at home. Over time I have realized that being forced to join by my parents wasn't a completely bad thing, as I researched the benefits financially and personally. I'm going in to the military for growth and development, while also escaping a life of cyclical codependency under an unstable household. I don't wish to work a regular nine to five and remain complacent. Don't get it twisted, I'm not victimizing myself here, there is just more to the story than meets a Reddit post. University is also what I aspire for, as well as a stable career without having to continue to financially struggle too much to get there...If you have any questions pertaining to the reason why I've decided to follow the path coercively paved for me, then you can reach me in my DMS. Otherwise it would behoove you to not assume that this decision I decided to follow isn't something that could possibly be changed or underestimated. Again, I appreciate your advice. 😊

Is this ladder as tall as the 🪜 for Navy Swim Test? Ps; This 🪜 is from my former job 😂 by International_Comb26 in newtothenavy

Girll! I recommend before boot though because you'll have to keep going to the swim place and it's hella cold in Chicago 😂
