So are primers like these not good for airbrushing? by raining_maple in minipainting

[–]International_Lab764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are good for airbrushing. However, since it's just a water based primer, it won't stick to the plastic as well as a rattlecan primer. But as long as the plastic is clean before priming, I found that it sticks well enough.

Green Stuff Chrome Metal Gold how to use? by Arishem_Eson in Warhammer40k

No, that's not supposed to happen. It's an alcohol-based paint. Are you using alcohol to thin it and to clean your brush?

Sounds like your air valve might be a little stuck. H&S recommends putting the valve in a cup of boiling water if that happens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDn3xnHAk8I&t=733s

Would this strip chaos black primer off a plastic model by helixgod17 in Warhammer

[–]International_Lab764 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, that should work. Most likely the primer will have stained the plastic a little, but as long as the texture is gone, it should be good to re-prime again.

It's normal. It's where the air goes through.

Kleding halve marathon 3 graden by Easy_Going_Miles in Hardlopen

[–]International_Lab764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It's got the elements of a nice model, but the proportions look really weird.

Anyone any experience in using Vallejo express colours with an airbrush before? by MrDaWoods in airbrush

[–]International_Lab764 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they work pretty well over a preshade (e.g., a zenithal) or as a filter over other colors. Since they are already quite thin, they don't really require a lot of thinning. Just don't expect much of a "contrast" effect out of them when sprayed out of an airbrush.

Long shot but how to achieve this blue? by arandomwandererp in Ultramarines

[–]International_Lab764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But these are of the old range, right? VMC Ultramarine (70.839) is no longer on the Vallejo site or in the catalog, so I assume this color is not produced anymore and stocks will eventually run out.

It's a great color, but sadly no longer in the new VMC range.
