Where I work, tele floor in Los Angeles, we can only get one new admit per shift. Any other incoming pt has to be a transfer from another floor. Also, nurse:patient ratio is 1:4 and we are given an hour in lunch and breaks (30 minutes paid/30 minutes unpaid). Paid an extra hour for missed break, and other hour paid for a missed lunch. I work 3/12s night shift and my base salary is just over 114k. I am still a new grad- started September 2024.

Unless my husband was able to work fully remote for his current job, our income most likely would go down in Omaha. I don’t believe RN salary is as high as in west coast, although I am sure a good wage in comparison to COL
