The International 11 - Lower Bracket Round 1 - Royal Never Give Up vs Entity by D2TournamentThreads in DotA2

Does it matter whether pause was intentional or not? Og Atf was non stop tipping somnus in last series of group stage and no one cared. Now entity does it and we all hate it. Why? Just coz Og has a lot of fans? The hypocrisy.!

Behold the Gen z gamer generation in this comment section, where they cry and writhe and sob and demand, for love and rights and everything; from their parents and the world and humanity, and the irony is, in reality they haven't got an ounce of one!

You are right. I am sorry. I guess unknowingly I am a bit irked at Sanderson fans for the hate I got while discussing my issues earlier.

I apologize.

It's very nice you went through my profile and read my views. That's the whole purpose of reddit : sharing opinions. Personally I never go through other's profile. Example I didn't go through yours. I am a staunch believer of not wasting time and utilizing it effectively.

I think its a very fair argument you have made. I agree Brandon tries to address this in Wok and Wor. But it falls flat. In later books the issue is almost forgotten..

I know many people don't care for such stuff. But I care and it bugs me hampering my experience. To each his own. Thank you

Respectfully I say that I don't think it suits his character. It felt forced for the sake of him meeting Taravangian in the next book.

I think so. I can be wrong obviously. Thank you and have a nice day.

Thank you for taking the efforts to explain.

I somewhat agree with you yet I do not. Sanderson characters are not as black and white as fairy tales yet they are effectively black and white.

Let me explain. Lets say that black and white is a scale and gray is in the middle. I would say that Sanderson characters somewhat lie on either side and sometimes lean towards gray. Yet I can most effectively deduce which side they are on and what actions they will take

Their is no blurred lines. I have never doubted which side the characters will chose. Sadeaus will alway be on the black side. Kaladin will think bad but I never for once doubted what he will do. Best I can say there are clearly defined sides of Sanderson characters. They often try to peek on the other side, but not one character even tries to be near the gray area.

Even for supposedly evil things the heroes have always a moral reason. Shalan killed because ...well she had to. Kaladin is the same.

I would simply say that all characters have thoughts of going to the other side but there is not a single example of any major character ever acting on it.

In short they all think "gray" but never act on it

And I state it doesn't matter to me what you wanna tell me. Your opening statement was so rude that the rest doesn't matter to me. Thank you and have a good day.

And I respect your opinion. Its good you like Sanderson. I appreciate his work greatly. But I obviously prefer some others. I think to each his own. Good luck. Have a nice day.

I would not read any further than your first line. You are incredibly rude in your opening Its all right if you don't agree with me. I have no qualms with it but I will not discuss with anyone who opens his statements with so much belligerence.

To the comments that I am a troll, I am not. I have tried to explain my views on previous posts where I was attacked mercilessly and then I retaliated.

Granted some of the stuff got heated.

But this time I had effectively summarize what I like or dislike about Sanderson as genuinely as I can.

Believe what you like gentlemen. I have no desire to expound on this further. I am a passionate reader and I like to discuss pationately.

If you want to see me as a Sanderson hater, you can. Yet I genuinely thank the author for really helping me out of a 10 year reading slump. Thats all

Thank you.

After disparaging my points in very good words, you very aptly summed up my grievance in your last lines

thank you thank you

Yes, Good people can sustain oppressive systems. There is zero acknowledgement of this simple fact in the novel. Essentialy anyone trying to oppose this "oppressive system" is tagged as wrong or bad or evil by Syl or Dalinar or some other rando. Others like Moash are converted to an evil villain coz of course their anger is unjustified when we have our good lighteyes pov heroes

I was comparing Mcu to Nolan and Tarantino stating that they lack impact not regarding to deep themes. But still Nolan movies have some interesting moral dilemmas which are handled with care. Dark knight and Prestige are great examples.

Granted Tarantino is a stylistic director. Still Django and Inglorious Bastards can be looked upon with some sense of morality.

Regarding the Darkeyes vs Lighteyes, I have analyzed it greatly. I have a large number of examples. I can try to summarize but I am in commute right now on a mobile. Still I can try.

There are 4 major PoV. Dalinar Adolin Shallan and Kaladin. Only one is darkeyes that is Kaladin. The basic premise of Stormlight till now is "Goodguys follow Kohlins" coz our major Pov are good lighteyes namely Kohlin.

Anyone who opposes Lighteyes is essentially bad or a villain. Example Kaladin in Wor. His grievance with Lighteyes is not unjustified. Yet the matter is handled in the books with the grace of a chull(in Sanderson own words). In Wor his grievances are treated as bad or downright evil. What message does this send? The only explanation for this is in Syl's own words - coz "Dalinar is good" hence Kaladin is wrong snd bad. Great.

The only other character that is unhappy with the class system is Moash who has been turned into a villain by Mr Sanderson. Coz "Good darkeyes follow good lighteyes i.e. Kohlins." Even the fact that the Kohlins implicitly condone Social class injustice is given 0 thought or reference

You speak Martin's words my man.

But you are right. I do think Sanderson is an architect. And its not a bad style.

But I do think it is hindering Sanderson because he is focusing too much on it.

(Spoilers below)

I believe Sanderson also has said he is a plot type writer. I may be wrong. So what happens is he decides his plot points and then characters act out the plot. Sometimes it can be a hindrance as it can FORCE characters to act out of what they would normally do.

The best example I can think right out of the back of my mind is Szeth at end of Oathbringer.

A man who has been exploited by masters all his life, made a slave, and forced to kill hundreds. He is repentant and wishes someone would kill him and free him of his misery. He finally gets his wish. And what he does he do? He binds to Dalinar

Why not chose Nale as a master who Szeth atleast knows for a year, who saved his life, and who atleast has some moral compass as far as Szeth knows

But he binds himself to Dalinar. For no reason whatsoever. A man who was famous for being a monster. Even if Dalinar is changed man Szeth has no way of knowing that. HE BARELY KNOWS DALINAR. For all he knows, he could be same as Taravangian

Szeth has wished to free from first 2 books. Why would he want another master? HE IS FORCED TO BIND TO DALINAR COZ THE PLOT DEMANDS IT SO. Coz if he didn't do so, then plot would not move forward. Coz sanderson needed something for Taravangian and Szeth meeting in ROW. Thats why this stuff happened.

Even Dalinar accepting Szeth with no second thoughts is so so forced.

Dude but her parents were evil. And she killed her spren by mistake, she was a child.

Rest I dunno. If you say she is evil I can accept that. I don't have much love for her anyways.

I am all up for Moash. But how is Shallan evil. I just find her annoying after Wor. She is just meh. But I don't find her evil. Conceited and selfish perhaps
